I am hoping to never need it. The mount is not the best if you mount this in an open smaller fishing boat. The lower part keeps bumping up and down. I bought a couple of straps that I screwed in. Yes it will take longer to get to it when needed but that is better than to have lost it during transport.

Suggest ignore the reference to boats, because the excellence of this Fire extinguisher is that it is rated for all fire types — ABC, all three. That’s what one wants for the kitchen. And I like the cool white color of the cylinder, actually attractive to have sitting on the back on the counter!

This is one of those products that you need to buy thinking you will never need it. I give it 5 stars because I have left it in my jar for over 4 months and it has not suffered from oxidation. I don't really know if the powder is the best but I suppose it is.

Right size coast Guard approved necessary on boat or truck.

Boaters are likely interested in this extinguisher because its Coast Guard approved and offers a 12 year life (UL Listed with a 12-year limited manufacturer warranty). Upon receiving the 3 I ordered, I checked the MFG date on the bottom of each and all 3 were made in 2022 (I purchased in Oct 2025). That means they’ll be Coast Guard approved for 9 years, not the 12 years listed in the product details.
