The right one for me.
I'm a beginner at the archery game so my opinion may not be worth a whole lot, but here it is. So far I am very impressed with this cross bow. I was looking around for an entry level cross bow at what I consider to be a sane price and came across this one. As I have no experience with them and have never even touched one in real life, I wasn't really interested in paying $1000 or more to see if I would even like it. This one fit the bill nicely. I doubt you can find a better price on a comparable bow. It arrived on time and was fairly easy to assemble as well. I assembled it and took it to a range the next day to zero it. It shoots like a dream and as you can see from the picture, it's very accurate. That target was at 30 yards and I nailed the very center. May not be impressive to anybody else, but I was quite pleased with how easy it was to shoot and how accurate it can be. I had a lot of fun with it and that is worth a lot me. I can also see that it will be a serious weapon to be used for hunting, which is important as well. This is definitely not a toy. I don't really have a lot of negative things to say about it. Maybe there's better bows out there, but this is the right one for me at this time. The only things I can say that I wasn't that happy about, was the fact that this was purchased as a new unopened item, but as you can clearly see in the picture, the box has been opened and another tag placed over the old one. The parts were kind of strung out all over inside the box as well. Everything was there though, and nothing was broken, so it wasn't that big a deal. Didn't give me a warm fuzzy though when I went to open the box and it had already had some of the new let out, lol. The only other complaint that I can think of is the way Amazon has these listed. They have 3 different cross bows listed as black, camo and camo 2. With different prices on all three. Of course I can tell the difference between the black and the camo's easy enough, but what is the difference between the camo and camo 2? Other than about $40 that is? They are all the same model, so is the difference literally just the camo pattern? The pictures of both the camo's are exactly the same. If that's the only difference then it doesn't seem like it would be very smart to pay $40 more for the other one. Oh well, to each his own on that I guess. Anyway, If you are looking for a good cross bow at a reasonable price, this one might be for you too.

A powerful and accurrate bow at a great price
This crossbow was the first bow i have ever owned and it was a great purchase. I cannot shoot a compound bow due to shoulder problems. I finally decided to take a chance on a crossbow and it was the right move with this one. I researched a lot prior to purchasing this one and I kept coming back to this one based on the previous reviews and the price. I just took my first deer with it at 20 yards and it did the job perfectly. It has great speed and accuracy. I was able to sight it in quickly and the accuracy is consistent. I read some complaints about the arrows and the scope but both items have been fine for me with no issues. The assembly was fairly easy but i did have to compare the instructions to the pictures on the box to totally understand what some of it meant so the instructions could be a bit more detailed. Overall and I extremely excited to own this great crossbow and it did not cost me a fortune. I highly recommend it, especially for first time bow owners.

Excellent entry level crossbow with plenty of power.
This bow shoots fast, flat, and accurately. The safety guard is nice and big to prevent losing a finger. Some assembly required, but all tools except a flat screwdriver were included. Instructions were not very easy to read, so I suggest you watch a video online. I suggest using blue Loctite on the assembly bolts and set screws. The included scope took quite a bit of adjustment to get to zero, but it hit the target out of the box and held zero. I had to shorten up the rope on the cocking mechanism so that my 13 year old boy could cock it himself, but that was a piece of cake (rated at 185 lb draw, so it still takes almost 90 lbs with the rope mechanism). My son complained the crossbow was heavy, but at a little under 8 pounds, it is comparable to other entry level units. You need to buy a nice target rated for crossbow bolts. I used someone else's block that is several years old and it had a hard time stopping my bolts before they got buried to the fletching. I lost a couple of bolts due to target damage. I would also suggest buying a decocking bolt because the crossbow has an anti-dry fire mechanism. It can be defeated, but it basically makes it a two person job. For a good quality bow that is rated at 370FPS, this is a bargain with all of the accessories (bolts with practice points, cocking rope, quiver, scope, wax) it comes with. This makes it an excellent choice as a first crossbow.

pretty nice xbow
I think I got a send back. It only came with two arrows. The scope elevation turret was adjusted all the way up. I just felt like someone had sent it back and I think I know why...more on that later. It is easy to put together but I've been turning wrenches and building machines all my life. I'm 62. It goes together well. Tight tolerances, etc. Operates as it should. I zeroed it in to the point I was consistently laying practice arrows in a 3 inch circle at 20 yards. I had visions of dead deer all over the place. Move over William Tell...get me an apple...come here kid, stand here and put this apple on your head, let me show you something. Then I put the broadheads on the arrow shafts. Holy mother of the lord...missed the hay bales...arrow lost and gone forever. Got closer to the target...started adjusting the elevation knob up until I brought the broadheads on target...relatively well. Backed up to 20 yards and I'm in the dirt again. Adjusted the elevation up...up...up...uh oh...ran out of adjustment. The turret ran out of up elevation adjustment...just like I found it when I opened the package when it first arrived. I think that's why it was sent back. Couldn't adjust it for the broadheads. I have to admit, I didn't know you had to align the razor blades with the fletching. I corrected that and it helped but still couldn't get the elevation right. I am in the process of shimming the back of the scope with some copper shimming material I have. I shouldn't have to do that but I hate having to go through the process of sending stuff back. I bet I can make it work. That's why I only gave the xbow a 3 star rating on accuracy. Other than not being able to zero the scope with broadheads the xbow looks like a nice piece for the money if all you want to do is launch filed tips. When practising with field tips you should have some apples handy for when the neighbors come by with their kids to see what you're up to.

Sick crossbow
Love mine, no issues putting it together or sighting it in, although it took ten shots and thirty clicks vertically, not sure if that’s normal. At thirty yards I can hit an apple. I’ll admit I haven’t played with sixty yard shots but I’ve heard that would not be unreasonable. I put mine in a spire compact case, (take your quiver off and it’ll fit). I’m using the bolts that came with and rage two chisel tips. I have yet to kill my first deer but I have confidence taking this into the woods that I won’t maim it. May upgrade the bolts next go around but these are good for sighting in. I’ve heard you can go heavier but don’t go lighter with this much FPS. Anyway, I am very happy for not having spent five hundred bucks. (Note after returning first crossbow, not centerpoint’s fault. This has more to do with the screw on discharge heads one can buy. I’ve never given a one star review before but there’s an inherent problem with this product (the screw on discharge head, that’s not clearly stated in the description. If the nocks you are using aren’t built to withstand the extra weight of the decocking head, you may end up like me with your string cut and a nock halfway up your bolt’s shaft. Could have caused serious injury, luckily Amazon’s warranty was still good on the crossbow. This was months after buying the centerpoint. There is a five year limited warranty from them but thanks to Amazon I didn’t have to mess with it, just packed up my old bow and accessories in the box the new one came in.) Second note 11/4/2021- ~2 years later, this thing is great. Double lung shot on a doe at thirty yards, as accurate as you sight it in to be, had to play with the scope but that’s totally normal. So yeah, shoot a normal bolt with a blunted range tip on it into some solid dirt and you wont have it break like mine did with the “decocking tip”, that thing is garbage. Great budget crossbow!

Great crossbow for the money!
Let me jut say first of all that I'm very glad you can actually buy a good quality bow for this price. I have done a lot of research and read many reviews on crossbows before buying this one. I asked guys at work and got the response telling me to buy a $800 bow that shoots around 380 fps. This guy told me it was a lot of money but worth it to him. I say to that, I just bought as much bow or more and saved around $530. The instructions are complete garage, especially if you've never dealt with a crossbow before. If I had prior knowledge It would have been a piece of cake but I didn't know if it was vital as to what cable went in front on the cable slide. I know crossbows are dangerous and wish they could be specific in the instructions. You would have thought I was putting together a kids toy which actually have much better instructions. Instructions aside though the bow is a great quality product. I just got to shoot it after having it for a month and was very impressed with the power. With piledriver bolts and 125 field points the bolt stuck out the back of my crossbow block target about 1 to 2 inches. The bow was harder to cock than I expected but it was my first time to ever cock a crossbow so it's something I'm not use to. The bow was also a little louder than I expected but I don't see anything jumping the string on this one. I bought some bowjax dampeners but haven't installed them yet. The scope is only shooting about 4 inches low right out of the box. I'm very impressed with this bow and can't wait to get in the woods this fall. The bow is very solid and fits well when shouldered. I would recommend this bow to anyone! You won't be disappointed!

This bow should be priced $800 or more! Incredible crossbow!
I must say I’m highly impressed with this bow! I recently purchased it and haven’t regretted it yet. It took me 25 minutes total to assemble the bow and have it sighted in. I am an avid bow hunter but with changes in my state’s regulations, if everyone else gets to use a crossbow, why shouldn't I! I knew I did not want to spend a lot of money, but I did not want to sacrifice in quality. After a few hours of solid research, this bow kept showing up on top rankings, I decided to make my purchase. The accessories are great on this bow. Don’t be confused by the reviews on clunky or loud stock. It is, but I don’t see where I wouldn’t have mine set to it’s position before I head into the woods. If you are looking for a great bow for a beginner this would be it. If this bow holds up, I don’t see why I would need to spend $1000+ on a “better” bow. This will get the job done. Other things I like is it’s super fast, but quite. The only noise was the thump of the bolt hitting the target. For 185lbs draw weight, the pull string makes it super easy to pull back. It does have some weight, but I like weight for stability. The scope that comes with it is great. I’ve decided to upgrade to one that illuminates but if you don’t want to spend anymore I don’t think you have to. I do like the bolts that came with the bow, but I am afraid they are too light. I purchased so Carbon Express Mayhems for hunting with Rage 100gr mechanical Broadheads. We will see how hunting season goes and I will update my review later. But if you are on the fence about buying a crossbow, or worried that the price on this one is too good to be true, I ensure you this crossbow is the real deal.

Knowing nothing about crossbows but a thing or two about quality, here are my thoughts...
I'll keep this short and simply say the xbow was easy to assemble but did take some thinking. Take your time, look at the pictures, read the instructions. With that let me say this xbow really seems to be high quality. I was saddened to see how much I might have to pay for a xbow, particularly a compound. I was even sadder when I realized good recurves aren't exactly cheap. I shop Amazon based on number of positive reviews. It took me a while to find this xbow and I don't know why. But, if you've found this review then we've arrived at the same place albeit different times. When I purchased this xbow had like 1290 reviews the vast majority of which seemed ranked at 5. That's my first clue that a product is good. You may have heard that this xbow is made by Crossman the BB gun people. Fine. So what. Crossman also makes large bore PCP's that will rock your world. They know how to manufacture things and this will be apparent the minute you pick this thing up out of the box. You may have also heard the scope sucks. Well I can't say much to that. But I will say I'll bet it will zero in on a kill shot in the 30 to 50 yard range. I watched a video where a guy did just that. So there you go on that. Bottom line, if you're looking for a good crossbow on a budget you've found it.
