Great CD!
This is a great CD! 'Is It A Crime' was a great Jazz song (I loved the saxophone and Sade's voice was outstanding!); I really loved 'The Sweetest Taboo' when Sade sings 'Every day is Christmas'/'And every night is New Year's Eve' (great lyrics/metaphor!); 'War Of The Hearts', 'You're Not The Man', 'Jezebel' and 'Mr. Wrong' were very nice songs; 'Punch Drunk' was another nice song (it was an instrumental); 'Never As Good As The First Time' was a fantastic song (the intro sounded like a theme/intro to the nightly news); 'Fear' sounded like a Spanish love song (it, too, was another instrumental/nice tune); 'Tar Baby' was a good song about being Black (a derogatory word that Black people always disliked!); I loved the song 'Maureen' which was dedicated to Sade's late BFF. Overall, a great CD (I thought 'Diamond Life' was better)!

Mehr Jazz als Pop
"Promise" ist etwas weniger eingängig als der Vorgänger "Diamond Life" mit der allseits bekannten Hit-Single "Smooth Operator". Muß man sich evtl. erst dran gewöhnen, aber alle Lieder strahlen viel Ruhe und Entspanntheit aus.
