Definite a must for game room. Allows you to plug in a ton more
First thing i will say is to be aware this DOES NOT work for plugging in one HDMI device to five HDMI monitors. This allows you to plug in five devices into one HDMI television. That being said this HDMI switch is relatively a good device to have IF you have more than three devices. Honestly if you are only plugging two or three you can get a different one. For me I really like to have the extra ports as I have a few gaming stations that I want to plug in and this works great for my new 4k televisions. Please note that this will work with any TV that has an HDMI port on it. The one thing I really like about it is that it has a small remote to make it easier to switch between HDMI ports. The remote is very basic however I am not a fan of the white. It gets noticeable dirty over time and I have only had it for a few days. It also has to be in line of sight in order to work with the HDMI switch. The remote runs on CR2025 battery which most of these small remote controls tend to run on. It has the five additional HDMI ports and they are numbered so you can know which one you are plugging into. Note that one of the HDMI ports is actually on the side. Be careful not to mix up the output and input as they are on either end. It will last for quite some time considering you only use it to change the HDMI channel and that is just one button pressing at a time. You can either scroll through the channels or select the channel you want. There is a button on the device itself if you are close by so you can just adjust the HDMI port number on the device if needed. It requires a power plugs (USB Power will work) to power it which I do recommend using. If you try to run it without it, it will either not work or shut off randomly as it tends to be a bit low on power. It does not come with a power brick so you will need to buy that if you do not have a usb port on your TV to plug it in. I recommend using the television usb if possible as it really does limit the amount of outlets you take up. The picture quality does not seem to be changed at all or least I did not notice any changes. It provides my 4K tv the same quality if it was plugged into the TV directly. I am able to plug additional game consoles to my television which is awesome. I have multiple gaming consoles I wanted to plug into my TV without needing to switch it out all the time. It also does not come with an HDMI cable so you will need an additional HDMI cable from your TV to the switch. It can provide you up to five additional ports. The one down side of having ports on either end is that it is a bit harder to keep the cable management clean. I would recommend if possible to just tape the switch down to the surface to keep it from moving. Overall this product works really well for me and works very well for 4K TVs. I am able to plug in more device into the TV (ps3, xbox one, xbox 360, ps4, and switch) and also it blends in pretty well with my television and stand. I usually just put it right below my TV in line of sight as you will not be able to change it otherwise. The device does not get super hot or anything when in use. It is pretty well built and made of aluminum I will say. There are also small LED light indicators to show what HDMI port you are currently on.

BUY IT!!
IT WORKS!! You just plug in the HDMI cables and when you turn on the machine attached to that HDMI cable the switch will sense it and activate that plug. SUPER SIMPLE. It does come with a remote, but I don't really ever see myself having to use it. Whatever I turn on it will switch accordingly. As for the power deal. A lot of people are asking. It runs off the machines its plugged into. BUT, it does come with an a/c adapter. One ends plugs into the switch. The other end is USB. SO either plug the usb end into something that will take usb, or get a wall adapter that will fit with a usb; like any phone charger ever! etc. AGAIN, it works and is super simple!! And you can hook up to 5 things with HDMI!! BUY IT. I'll buy another one if I need more than once switch. I"ll even recommend to my family and friends!

Works as advertised after a little work
Used this to connect my Sony PS3 and PS4 as well as my PC to the same port on my TV. At first it did not send any video to my TV from my PS4 and was causing screen flickering from my PS3, but after switching around ports and HDMI cables, I eventually found a configuration it liked and worked. All of my cables work when directly connected from console to TV, so this device was obviously having some issues. Overall, once the product was working, it works well. Having both a button on the device and a remote to switch, as well as a smart switch to only change to active ports is very nice. Build quality is also good, as is the display in the front. Good product when you get it to like your set up.

Auto switching is convenient
I bought this to replace a similar (4HDMI in) unit which I bought from a big box store a year and a half ago for about the same price. That one never had the auto switching function work and HDMI input #1 always had issues. This new one has 5 input ports (4 on back, one on side) instead of four which is great, but best of all: the flipping auto-switch actually works! So now when I start the playstation, I don’t have to get up and press the button to switch inputs. Yes, this unit has a remote but I tend to misplace remotes so I keep it by the unit. (I know, defeats the purpose). The picture is great, but it was with my old unit too. It has blue lights to indicate when it has power, when it is sending a signal, and what input is on. I don’t have a 3D TV/player so I cannot attest to that part. So far, no issues with any of the inputs either. I wish I bought this instead of the other one but I thought buying from a big box store would result in a better product for some reason

Simple, Reliable with great build quality and design
There are many HDMI switch boxes to choose from these days. All claiming to offer 4K, 3D and other functionality. In the end the build quality, components and design separate the ones worth buying from the disposable kind. I have been using this box now for several weeks. I decided I needed this to connect all the many "mini" retro consoles that have come out and are coming out. I needed more ports this September when the long awaited Genesis mini came out, later in the year I expect the TurboGrafx mini, along with the SNES and NES mini, this is a perfect complement and it works perfectly. I have the PSOne and all the mini consoles connected and it switches without fuss, automatically. No odd artifacts, no delay, excellent image quality, simple and reliable, that's what I wanted, that is what I got.

Update of prior review: Performance is bac even with Premium HDMI Certified Cables
Specs don't say it, but the FAQs mention that you need to use Premium Certified HDMI cables to get good picture quality. Got Premium cables (4K Ultra Certified) and still was having problems if the signal went through this box as compared to directly to TV. There were artifacts (small white specs that would show up and bounce around the image), while watching TV from Cox cable's CONTOUR box (using the MOCA Channel). Also an XBOX 360 output - showed patterned background which does not show when XBXOX was connected directly to TV. Besides use of Premium cables, I supplied it with external power (so that it doesn't have to use power from the devices connected via HDMI cables) and even used higher wattage power supply (such as one that powers an iPad). Didn't make any difference in the device performance.

Recommended Purchase! Easy to Use, User Friendly but power cord base not included
This switch works great! Easy to setup, easy to use and the remote control is a bonus. It has 5 ports allowing up to five items (TV, game consoles, stereo, Roku, etc) to be connected at once eliminating the hassle of having to unplug and re-plug your gaming systems and electronics every time you use them. Please note though that the 5 HDMI ports require one of them to be connected to your TV leaving you 4 HDMI ports to attach gaming systems and more. You'll need to purchase your own power base as this is not included in the purchase; it only has a power cord included, which could be longer, as it barely reaches across the shelf and partially down the back of the entertainment center requiring the use of an extension cord to reach my power outlet. So my only complaints are that the power cord should be longer and a power cord base is not included.

Four outta Five is still good?
One(1) of the five(5) ports doesn’t work as it should. It’s the side one parallel to the export/outport one. It *will* play audio (just fine) and somewhat of a clear picture. The picture itself will consistently cut out to black (along with the sound) unless the TV is turned on and off again. Or it will be ‘snowy’ picture which is extremely noticeable on dark parts. And I feel like it’s messed up with three? As if they’re cross wired somehow because I used to have my PS3 hooked up into the third slot and when I’d switch over to Dish, which is what I had in the fifth, it’d turn the PS3 on. (I don’t use the three that often so it wasn’t me turning it on) Or maybe the cats were doing it and by pulling it out of the third slot was just a blip. Anyway the rest of is great and very convenient! I have a PS2 HD ‘upscaler’/plug thing that I have in the 2nd port and that works great. My fourth is in the four slot and I’m not great at technology so I’m not sure about if the PS4 drops frames or anything. :/ But the picture/sound is fine and it saves up room on the back of the TV. I do t know how long this is going to last. Hopefully a while but since the one port is being a bit funny already I really don’t know. I went with this one originally *since* it had 5 to choose from but I guess four is still good? PS I haven’t used the remote, it switches automatically, which is greatttt!
