A quality, reliable item - stand alone, with available app or Home Assistant
I find the range and quality of Shelly products just superb and I have quite a collection now around the house. The Plus Plug is great, seems super reliable (I have had them on high-current items such as the tumble dryer and washing machine for almost 2 years now) and they have some neat functionality that other smart plugs don't have, such as being able to set the power-on status (i.e. what happens after a power cut), setting the colour of the status ring depending on what it's doing (including being able to turn it off completely) and so on. The Shelly range - including the Smart Plus - also integrates beautifully with Home Assistant. A tad more expensive than others perhaps, but It Just Works!

Excellent, works, you have choice, a. use clean trusted ip for security or easy app.
Excellent product. I use Home automation since before 2010. This product does not force you to use a stealing app. You can configure with clean IP and Wifi as you choose. Well done.

Finally - device for working out costs, getting alerts from devices and more!
I use this for power monitoring but particularly to get alerts when quiet devices finish - such as dishwashers. It has some great options that allow you to get alerts on your phone and/or over Alexa (so a ding sound in different rooms) when the device is finished. Setting up rules for this isn't for complete novices but for techy people it should be fine. I set a rule so that I get an alert if it uses less than x amps for x minutes - you can determine the values needed for both by using the energy monitoring features. Another use case is detecting when a dehumidifier tank is full by using the same logic - it's been off (or very low voltage) for a number of hours which means the tank is full. You can also do the same thing on washing machines and tumble dryers to effectively make them smart devices - or even if they are already smart, to customise the alerts to your preference rather than using the manufacturers own alert system. Also great for monitoring short term energy usage of things like fan heaters or any electronic device to find out what it costs you. Take the amount of watts, divide by 1000 (turns it into kilowatts), multiply by .225 (cost of electricity per kWh, yours may be slightly different especially if reading this after 2026) and multiply that by the number of hours you use the device. The Shelly can be set up to calculate all of this for you for longer term applications, for example "how much did I spend on tumble drying this month" - something to think about over the summer!

Does everything it says and well. Value isn't all there though.

Another great Shelly product, not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
Very good quality smart plug. More epensive than a lot of options, but the Shelly ecosystem is great. Have several of these installed controling devices from cabinet lights to heaters in sheds. Highly recommended, especially if you have other Shelly devices.

Extremely versatile
This is an incredibly versatile device. If like me, you like to control smart devices from an arduino or esp32 this is perfect. The socket has it's own local web server that allows easy congfiguration of some quite advanced features either via a web browser or through API calls. There is therefore no requirement to connect this to the cloud via an app ( although you can ) and everything can be easily controlled via your local network. Other nice features include the ability to send webhooks when the button is pressed and automatic state flipping after a configurable time delay. Now that I know just how versatile Shelly devices are I'm going to buy a few more, there seems to be quite a variety of different types.

Great quality smart plug
This is a really nice quality smart plug for any smart home. The app works very well, the plug itself looks very good quality. The LEDs show device status and also how much energy the connected device or appliance is using. I'm using with Home Assistant for automation, and it works instantly there with local control.

Constantly disconnects
Constantly disconnects from WiFi and the only way to fix it is to turn router or plug off and on, which makes it entirely useless especially id the equipment its used for is sensitive, the Android app also doesnt work well during set up it will list WiFi networks but won't show them to you, when it works its good for monitoring the energy cost but since I've had it its been offline 50% of the time.
