I love these pencils! I work 17 years in our local school district as a substitute and a teacher assistant in the high school. During that time a concerted effort was taken to research the best pencils for note taking and testing. The Ticonderoga #2 pencil won out. The pencils have a high rate of ease in sharpening by crank and small hand sharpeners. The erasers are good quality. And the lead is dark with very little breaking. I bought these for 2 of my grandchildren because I know that neat notes and test answers are important for the student and the teacher. This is a pencil I would recommend to everyone.

Superior strength
Superior pencils. I use pencils a lot at work and these hold up better than any other brand I have tried. The wood seems stronger and doesn’t chip and crack around the lead.

Best wood pencil there is
As a teacher, thus an expert on pencils, don't bother unless they are Dixon Ticonderoga. I sharpen a couple of dozen a day. They reliably sharpen without the lead falling out or sharpening unevenly so one side is still wood. Man, that alone burns my biscuits. The erasers stay soft and useable rather than turn into hard things that smear rather than erase. The BEST pencil there is, bar none.

Always worth a buy!!
As a teacher (and parent) these pencils last forever and write beautifully. They do not smudge and I enjoy that it feels “soft” when writing on the paper as oppose to cheaper pencils when you feel like you rip the paper. This brand makes tons of different size pencils which is another reason why I like the company (yay for inclusion ). The color variety is good as well.
