These stones are an excellent value. I've tested them out on various tools and blades and some carbide bits, and they've worked well across the board. They're very fine grit and definitely for honing and refining--these are not made for removing large amounts of material, so if that's what you're looking for keep looking. They also load (clog) pretty quickly, but given their fine grit that's not at all surprising. Using water or thin oil helps a lot, or (my preferred method) use them dry and use an eraser to clear them off (kneaded art erasers are best). The edges are not perfect, but they're fine unless you need jewelry precision, and the faces are very flat/uniform. Overall, strongly recommended.

These oil stones are Worth we every penny I love the different grits they will last you a lifetime I use these every time before I go to the 3-1 micron strops yes I will buy these all day long.

The sizes and shapes are excellent; however, I wish there were a variety of grit from one side to another.

I purchased these to help re-sharpen router bits. Used them once so far. Working as planned. Maybe you have different idea for there use. I liked the grit number on them also.

Great for gunsmith finishing touches. I used them on hardened steel parts so it took some elbow grease, but a great smooth end result. Nice sharp corners on all the tools, very nice SMALL set. Each piece is only 3-4 ish inches.

These stones do not wear away like other stones. reminds me of a fine ceramic stone. They are very fine stones so are more for polishing type applications. They don't remove allot of material but with that said they cut fast for such a fine stone. Good for honing the edge of a blade or smoothing a sharp corner on a machined part and tons of other things around the shop. These stone will likely last a lifetime. When they get loaded, it seems similar cleaning tricks for ceramic stones work for these as well.

Great for special sharpening and for small burr removal

I used the stones for finishing off cutting tools made from Silver steel(Drill rod) and also High Speed steel lathe bits. I had read that achieving a smooth honed cutting edge gives the best finish on the work. Using these stones helped me get that finish. The stones come in a well cushioned plastic case. They seem fairly robust but I handle them carefully.
