Thoroughly impressed with this device. I read through all of the reviews before buying, including negative, and can say my experience has been completely positive. I love the backlighting, though I wish it projected further down behind my monitor. The front lighting is great and can easily be positioned to light up my desktop, but minimal glare on the screen itself. The puck is brilliant. It's easy and intuitive to dial in brightness, color temperature and front/back lighting. I haven't experienced any of the touch issues on the controller that others have. It takes just a like tap to select a setting and it's easy to save a favorite setting via the <3 button via a long press. I've had no issue with it waking up when I sit down at my desk. Perhaps it's been more of a positioning issue for others? Mine lives just above my trackpad and I've yet to have it not turn on the light when I sit down at my workstation. It does fit nicely on my 27" Apple Studio Display. I like the clamp design because it sits up there lightly, balances well, but doesn't exert much force on the screen. The build quality appears to be excellent. The light housing and puck are made from aluminum. The puck is nicely weighted and it rotates very smoothly. Despite the cost, I feel this was a very worthwhile upgrade to my studio. Update 11/8/25: I mistakenly thought the sensor to turn the light on was in the puck. However, that wouldn’t have made sense. The sensor is in the arm underneath the light bar, facing the user. That said, it continues to work flawlessly and I’m still very pleased. My favorite feature has become the “favorite” button (go figure). I can adjust the lighting to whatever I’d like at the time, but can immediately revert to my preferred setting for editing photos.

I’ve been using the BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 for a few weeks now, and honestly, it’s one of those upgrades I didn’t realize I needed until I had it. The automatic brightness adjustment is probably my favorite feature. It just gets it right without me having to constantly tweak settings. Whether I’m working during the day or late at night, the lighting always feels comfortable and easy on the eyes. I used to get eye strain after long hours, but that’s noticeably reduced now. Another big plus is how well it lights up not just the desk but the whole surrounding area. The backlight creates a really nice ambient glow behind the monitor, which makes the setup feel more premium and less harsh compared to a typical desk lamp. It’s subtle but makes a huge difference, especially in a darker room. The customization options are excellent. You can adjust brightness and color temperature very precisely, and the wireless controller makes it super convenient. I like being able to quickly switch between warmer light in the evening and cooler light during work hours. Also worth mentioning—no screen glare at all. That was something I was worried about, but it’s designed really well and doesn’t reflect on the screen even slightly. It fits perfectly on my curved monitor too, which was a nice bonus. Overall, this feels like a premium product that actually delivers on what it promises. If you spend a lot of time at your desk, I’d definitely recommend it. Designed and feels premium right out of the box, including the desktop remote. Easy to install and use. Controls are intuitive. Instantly made the computer desk feel cozy and the lighting made it so much easier on my eyes. I LOVE the auto on/off sensor. Basically the moment you sit down, it'll detect that you're there and turn on automatically. If you're gone for about 3-5 minutes, it shuts off on its own. I use the auto-dimming feature during the day to let it adjust on its own, then at night time I switch manually to the warm light setting. Only downside is that it looks quite bright from the side but why would you be staring at it from the side in the first place? Yea this one's expensive vs others but it's worth the price and you can keep it for a looooong time.

This is the perfect desk lamp for those of us whose desks are too full of stuff to support a free-standing lamp. I have it clipped to a 27" Apple monitor, and it works perfectly. No noticeable impact on the screen, very good quality light, and it lights up my desk. It's very high quality, particularly the remote. I didn't think the backlight would be useful, but I actually like it. My one quibble is that it has only a single preset. I'd vastly prefer two—one for daytime settings and the other for (much yellower and dimmer) nighttime. The automatic adjustment dims the light a bit too much for my tastes. It's expensive, but worth every penny.

I purchased the ScreenBar Halo 2 for my partner after owning the previous model myself for over a year, and it continues to be one of the best upgrades for a desk setup. The build quality is excellent and the design is very clean, sitting securely on top of the monitor without taking up any actual desk space. The wireless controller is a nice touch and keeps the workspace looking minimal, though it does take a little bit of time to get used to. I sometimes find it a bit challenging to toggle between the front light and the back ambient light or to dial in the exact brightness levels, but I suspect that is more down to user error than a flaw with the hardware. Once you get the hang of the touch interface, it becomes much easier to manage. Overall, this is a very satisfying product that feels premium and does exactly what it is supposed to do. If you want a high-quality light that doesn't clutter your desk or cause screen glare, this is a great choice. Having used one for a long time now, I can say it holds up well and remains a reliable part of my daily routine.

not quite sure how i went so many years without a monitor light bar!?!?!? most of the times, we're looking at our screen, but you might have papers, mail, etc. that you have on your desk that you need to look at also. before, i had lamps next to both sides of my desk, but i realized that my desk was extremely dark and hard to see papers and other stuff that i needed to read. i started researching options to make my desk brighter and came across this. LIFE CHANGING! like the song goes... "i can see clearly now...", lol. seriously, i can't imagine doing any desk work without this light bar. i haven't tried others, but this one has been great! specific features that i love: + the back light and ability to adjust the front light and back light with the dial is great! + the motion detector senses when you're not at your desk and turns off automatically to save electricity/money/environment! although i give it 5 stars, there are couple minor things i wish were better: - i use an external logitech hd video camera, and i had to play around a bit to figure out where to place; finally settled on placing it on top of the thick arm part of the light bar (that connects to the thin light bar); i had to tape the video cam to the light bar arm so that it would not fall off; also the video cam picks up part of the light that the light bar emits, but only appears as a fine line in my video when on calls - i have a glass desk, so the light reflects a little off the desk; it was a little distracting at first, but don't notice it now; and usually when i look down at my desk, i likely have paper(s) that i need to look at, so it blocks the light reflection; i could also look into buying a matte anti-glare screen protector and cut it to the dimension of the reflection on my glass desk and affix to my desk. but again, not anywhere close to being a deal breaker. the benefits certainly outweigh the demerits by a lot! quality is well made and fits well (definitely not flimsy; secure on my monitor), and the matte dark grey color is great (a matte black version would also look great)! overall, extremely happy! :)

This is the perfect product to light your desk setup without glare and without taking up any desk space. The light is just amazing. There is no glare. You can adjust the brightness and it can be solar flare bright if you wish. You can dial in the color temp and the presence sensor is just cool. The only thing I regret about this light is not buying earlier.

This light bar is excellent. It was expensive, but it was worth it. I love how it provides light on my desktop without creating glare on the screen. I also like how it automatically turns on when I sit down at my desk. It was extremely easy to set up. It comes with a remote to set the intensity and color of the light. That allowed me to dial in what works best for me. I haven't needed the remote since the light bar remembers the previous settings when it turns on.

Worth every penny. Is better dan all the lamps I tested and has great adjustability features.

The BenQ ScreenBar Holo 2 is an excellent on-screen lamp. The light is bright, clear, and adjusts beautifully to reduce eye strain during long work or reading sessions. Its sleek design and easy setup make it a classy and functional addition to any workstation. The only downside is the price — it’s a bit pricey, but in my opinion, worth it for the quality

Très franchement, la BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 est un des meilleurs achats que j’ai faits pour mon bureau. Dès l’installation, ça a rendu mon setup beaucoup plus beau, plus propre et plus “premium”. Ça apporte une vraie ambiance, surtout le soir, sans avoir besoin d’allumer une grosse lampe qui casse tout. Au quotidien, c’est aussi ultra pratique pour bosser : • la lumière éclaire parfaitement le bureau sans éblouir • ça évite les reflets sur l’écran • ça fatigue beaucoup moins les yeux qu’un éclairage classique • tu gardes ton bureau clean parce que ça ne prend zéro place La qualité est au rendez-vous : finitions solides, lumière homogène, réglages simples, et le fait d’avoir une lumière “focus” sur le bureau fait une vraie différence pour lire, écrire, travailler sur un clavier, etc. Bref : ça améliore le confort + ça rend le setup beaucoup plus stylé. Je recommande à 100% si tu passes beaucoup de temps sur ton PC.

Amazing product

I wish I had discovered these ages ago. A very effective light that can be programmed to your liking. My most liked feature is that you never need to turn it off. After a couple of minutes or so of leaving your desk, it turns itself off. As soon as you come back, it turns itself on again.
