Study, functional and well designed piece of kit.
Okay, so it's not made of iron girders but compared to other kitchen equipment it definitely has a nice quality feel to it. Using it is a straight forward with no annoying fiddly bits. Getting used to the new process of fresh coffee making is harder than any design complications the machine contributes. It makes it all very straight forward. Problems I have faced are ALL MY FAULT and I have done them all ! : Forgetting to put the water in (daft) Forgetting to put the new filter in (messy) or Forgetting to put enough beans in (weak coffee - the biggest sin) .. and of course, not being able to sleep at night because I have drunk too much coffee during the day. I haven't forgotten to put the empty jug under (very messy) there is time yet. Looks like it needs descaling (nice unexpected feature) after 30-50 uses in hard water area. That soon comes around when you first get it so get some de-scaler quite soon if you get one. De-scaling works out at 20p a month using the machine once everyday. 20-25 cups (1 3/4 cups to a mug) for half-decent supermarket coffee (£3-£5). So I make that a mug roughly 30p (?). And then, all the combinations of grinding levels and brewing strength can produce quite different coffee tastes - some nice, some not so. I am desperately trying not to set up an Excel Sheet to keep track of different beans and brewing combinations - oh dear, what chance I can hold out? I had some instant coffee I had left over - the most expensive and I appreciated it once-upon-a-time and it needed to be used up, but it tasted like dishwater - I am now officially spoiled! Recommended? - ABSOLUTELY !

Amazing machine
The machine makes lovely coffee. It was easy to set up and use. No fuss, I have tried it with coffee beans and also with ground coffee both options are excellent. I don’t see the difference in the taste when using the standard paper filter and the gourmet paper but of course I might not be the best judge. When you switch off the machine at the plug you will always need to set the timer again if you need it. I have not tried to use the timer but I don’t doubt it’s functionality. I only use the machine default setting for heating to keep it warm but I normally warm my milk in microwave. The cup measurement is not standard mug so you might want to test how much water you need to make a cup. I normally just make 4 cups and it will fill my big mug. The glass jug needs proper maintenance because it gets water stains easily. Anyway, overall it’s an amazing machine that makes lovely coffee and great taste. I love it so much …

Tastes like Starbucks in your homew
Great machine, the aromafresh system works well, producing a lovely coffee smell in the kitchen when the coffee is brewing. Easy to use, set up and clean. My only mention would be able the beans falling into the grinder from the hopper, occasionally they will get caught up and you will not get a full grind, so the coffee is a little weak. Easy to fix with stopping and grinder another 1 beans worth. Overall, I can’t fault it, great tasting fresh coffee in minutes. Would definitely recommend this for a first bean to cup machine. Waking up to fresh coffee filling the kitchen is awesome!

Excellent design bean to cup coffee maker and very quiet in operation including the grinder
This machine is so much better than our old bean to cup coffee maker, the bean hopper and grinder unit can be removed for cleaning unlike like our old machine, the filter housing will swing out with the carafe in place, options for using the grinder or using ready ground coffee, auto timer function, buttons for number of cup upto 10 and brew strength, there is a switch to set the finess of the grinder, the grinder is very quiet compared to our old machine We purchased a Titanium plated gold reusable No.4 filter instead of using paper filters, this should last for years and never stain I highly recommend this coffee maker, once set you simply add water and switch on, your settings are retained for next use

Excellent Quality Bean to Cup machine.
I like the way the coffee machine is built with all the functions clear and easy to understand. I regularly use it for Bean to Cup to make coffee every morning. The only thing you have to make sure that you add about 4-6 cups of water to make a standard cup of coffee. I have not tried the Ground Coffee to make the coffee till I finish the Bag of Beans. It also has a very useful descaling function for cleaning the machine. It comes with a 3-year warranty so it must be good to last that long. I believe it to be better than the overpriced coffee machines which do the same job as this middle-priced one but better.

Great tasting coffee
Bought this to replace a 15 year old krups machine and separate burr grinder to save space in our new kitchen. The coffee tastes even better than my old combo. Four stars as a result of some things which might be game changers for you. 1. The jug pours really nicely, but the overall capacity is a little small - 1 litre is the practical limit 2. The timer function works well, but clock settings are lost when the machine is unplugged - not so great if you have limited mains sockets in the kitchen 3. It is quite tall, so it likely won't fit under cupboards 4. Fiddly to fill with water, and can only be filled from the left hand side which could be a pain if your kitchen is laid out like mine and the cupboards get in the way. 5. If you try to 'steal' a cup midway through brewing you'll get drips onto the hotplate. Just wait for the whole jug to finish (approx 7 mins) These are minor niggles which you'll get used to. It's a good machine, feels sturdy and looks well. Recommended.

Easy and convenient to use
We bought this coffee maker to replace a Cuisinart bean to cup machine which we had had several years and had finally started to leak after descaling it. We are very glad we made the change. This Melitta machine is far more convenient. We were used to having to measure out the right amount of coffee and water for the brew that we wanted and so the fact that this machine uses all the water in the reservoir, did not present us with a problem. The controls allow selection of the bean grind, number of cups and brew strength. These controls all seem to alter the amount of coffee that is used, which combined with the amount of water you put in the reservoir gives the desired brew. It took a few goes using different settings to come up with the brew that we liked. The biggest convenience is cleaning. The removable filter although more expensive means you do not have to empty out and wash the basket every time. The burr grind chamber is sealed as the coffee is brewed, so this only has to be cleaned occasionally. In the case of our previous Cuisinart machine the grinding chamber had to be washed after every use, even if using ground coffee because the chamber filled with condensation. The saving in time is substantial. There is no water filter built in, so we do not have the expense of replacing that, though we do fill up with filtered water anyway. Very easy to use on a daily basis. Ensure there are enough beans in the dispenser, put in a filter, add the right amount of water, (change the number of cups and strength if you need to) and press the on button. We have not made use of the timer facility. All in all we are very satisfied with our purchase.

Excellent rapport qualité/prix - 5 mois d'utilisation
