Imported Russian Spices Berberis (pack of 5) "Barbaris" : desertcart.co.uk: Grocery Review: Update: contents of each packet are actually pretty small, so I have to use 2 packs per full pot of Russian/Uzbek plov. Thought I could get away with using just 1 packet per pot...but not if you layer your plov. So each layer needs about 1 packet of barbaris. The berries are delicious & come out just a little tart, which is perfect. Quality is great, not expired, only complaint is how tiny each packet is for the price. If you want to make a good far east pilaf, you will need barberries in addition to all the other ingredients that make great pilaf. These packages come with recipe and they give you that memorable taste that no other ingredient can add to it.

For people who know, good in any dishes, I put my berries in rise pilaf, it adds nice taste to it

Read very carefully you do not get 1.45oz of product as stated in the description you get 5 grams. For Americans this is less than 1 teaspoon per package (30 grams is one ounce) making the berries over $140.00 per pound. Look at other sellers.
