desertcart.co.jp: Moms on Call: Next Steps Baby Care - 6-15 Months : 本 Review: Not worth the hype - I honestly don’t understand the hype of this book. The information is so basic and really not all that helpful. It’s basically all written in point form with very little detail - everything can be found online with a quick search. Also, the feeding section recommends starting with pea sized amounts for finger foods, which is the opposite of what most reputable resources recommend (finger foods should be served in large pieces so baby can grip them, with smaller pieces only to be served around 9 months when baby develops the pincer grasp). Overall this book left me feeling more confused than confident and knowledgeable. Review: Every new mom must have - Mom’s on call changed my life. I got the 0 to 6 months book when my newborn was 2 weeks old and I’m so glad I did. My baby is now 6 months old and has been on a sleeping schedule since he was 3 weeks old. He started sleeping through the night about 10 weeks. He is the easiest baby to put down for a nap I’ve ever seen. I’ve recommended moms on call to just about every friend having a baby that I can. This book is full of so much information, not just the sleep training information but also, what to do when the baby is sick, how to handle weaning and starting food. Additionally, it has a lot of good information for mom too. When I got mastitis, moms on call gave me information on how to treat it. Mom’s on call helped make sense of the hardest, best, most important time in my life. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Not a NEED but Definately a WANT & It's Helpful
This book has been such a lifesaver for me. It gives me a clear guide on how to get my baby on a schedule and lays out how I should be feeding at each stage, which takes so much of the guesswork out of it. At the same time, I really appreciate that they remind you every baby is different and encourage you to adjust the schedule to fit your parenting style, it never feels like a one-size-fits-all approach. I also love the extra tips they include on things to keep around the house. There are so many helpful items I never would have thought of on my own, but now I use them daily. It’s practical, reassuring, and honestly gives me so much more confidence as a mom. If you’re in the 6–15 month stage, this book is a must-have.

Good if looking for a summary on various newborn-related topics ...
Good if looking for a summary on various newborn-related topics and not a long read. The typical day schedules are good if you want to be told exactly what to do - and if your baby cooperates. Mine is a power napper (rather than a long napper) so I found them to be less useful, From a Canadian perspective, it is not up-to-date with the latest recommendations from dietitians (ie don't give them juice) and dentists (ie don't use sippy cups), but the food time schedules are helpful (there are strict almost hour by hour schedules as well as broader guidelines which I found more helpful). It's a good crash course.

Meh..
Truly wasn’t overly impressed… none of the information was different than what I can just find online…
