The design of the kit was basically satisfactory. The use of flat side panels for the fuselage rather than the more traditional top, bottom, and both side rails dues make it a bit easier to assemble it. It would also be much better if kit making sent pre-bent wires for landing gear and tail gear. These are tricky to bend from the straight wire supplied in the kit. Overall, kit was as advertised and pretty easy to build, resulting in a nice display model. I built many Guillow kits as a kid when they cost $ 0.25 instead of $25. I am almost 82 years old now. I suspect that balsa wood if much dearer than it was in the 1950s.

Not easy and definitely a challenge. They do fly if you keep them light and straight.

The pieces are neither laser cut nor printed on the balsa. It's so imperfect that if you cannot detach them apart, you cannot cut them by yourself. Also, the two side panels from the fuselage have different qualities, one is much weaker than the other.

Not nearly as good as some of the kits currently out there. It reminds me of some of the kits I put together in the 1960's. First it is die cut... not the worse part however. The fuselage sides are solid balsa, so it is more of a "box" than the curved sides formers and stringers produce. The formers do not have the notches for the stringers so they have to be notched. I do not recommend this kit as it currently is. Guillow's needs to seriously update this kit.

Beautifully cut kit and all parts were there. My husband loved this plane and has built them before so it will be a trip down memory lane. However, it is small and extremely lightweight - more like a Vapor. Still a great value and well made. I would recommend it to the experienced model builder.
