These are super fun to whip around. I wouldn't dare trust myself with the real thing. You should've seen the people I pranked with this thing lol. I will say though, they start to get loose after a lot of use. Pretty sure you can tighten them though. Just not easy.

These are such a great idea! And unlike so many novelty items, I think these will be pretty great, easy to store and easy to take out for use. They are well designed, using 'binding post' type of screws/nuts. I found that a size T6 plus torx bit or size T7 standard torx bit, depending on the individual screw. Sometimes the T7 could make a snug fit, otherwise the t6p bit would fit. It its worthwhile to check the screws to make sure they wont back out on you while using the utensils. My example came with some flavor of thread locker on all of the screws, so I am not worried about it coming apart. The seller's listing recommends checking the screws periodically, but since there is thread-locker on them all, I am not concerned. They are made out of sturdy stainless steel, so there is plenty of mass to help with flipping. The machining is done well, with no sharp edges. The only concern I have is that the spoon is quite shallow. I probably would not use this for soup or something that is quite thin, but it would probably be fine for a mashed potato type of consistency. Overall, these are great and I cannot wait to break them out at the next camping trip. At right around $10 (at the time of this review), these are a great value, and totally worthwhile based on the materials used in construction, and quality of implementation.

I had a screw that kept coming loose. I understand that is going to happen with a mechanism like this, but as soon as I would tighten it, it would come loose again. I didn't try eating with them so Idk how well they function. The spoon looks really flat so I wouldn't imagine it would work too well.

This is a fun little thing for what it’s worth. I’m Filipino, so balisongs are already favored in our house. Our kids love them, so this is a safe and fun way to play with your food! The fork didn’t move as smooth upon opening, but once they get loosened up by movement a little then you’re able to maneuver. My kids like to eat with these, and so, I don’t mind so long as it gets them to eat!
