What is the difference between this and the A1658W model?

I owned one of these watches some time ago and did not know it to be solar powered, so I went back to the Amazon sales page to investigate. I believe you have misunderstood the copy in the product description that is headed by the titling "Casio", which is history about the company and just some company blurbing about product goals going forward. These watches are not solar powered. If you look at the face, best done in the selling page enlargement, you'll notice the word "lithium" in the upper right corner, which indicates a lithium battery. SOMEDAY they may come out with the "solar powered RADIO-CONTROLLED" products, toward which they are making "efforts". Don't worry, though, these batteries last a long time. I don't recall ever having changed one in my first watch over the approximately 3 years before I lost it. In any case, don't forget your sunblock!

Is it possible to change the language of the days' names?

I don't think so. Casio labels watches with various languages as "multilingual," and this is not one of those.
