It does have this stringent “burning chemicals” smell when it first goes on. After it dries that smell goes fully away along with any gross smells after a few saturated sprayings. I keep one pump sprayer with a dog safe sanitizer and another with the odorcide. My dog had diarrhea and he had an accident all over my white carpet. The smell was absolutely terrible. It smelled like dead bodies mixed with rotten food . I’m sorry to be so graphic. But I have to tell you how terrible it was in order to tell you how great this product worked. I put this in my shampooer with very hot water, and I used it and it absolutely worked, and it took out the odor and it actually removed the stain as well. I had just put that carpet down not even a year ago and it was so bad I thought we would have to rip it up this product saved my carpets life and the scent lasts for days after I used it. It is very pleasant but strong. You don’t need a lot. I just mix it to my liking. I absolutely love this. It is the best product I have ever used for odors, removing odors !!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could!
