Finally, after waiting almost 20 years to jump into Full Frame, I elected to pull the trigger on the Canon RP. I've been shooting with various Micro 4/3, Fujifilm, and Canon EOS gear - love them all. But as I mentioned, I was always intrigued by Full Frame, but due top the high costs and size involved with that system, I deferred. After seeing the great deal for the RP and the 24-105 kit lens, I knew that this was the time. OK - right off the bat, the RP is a wonderful camera - well-built, yet very light and smallish. It's a delight to hold in the hand, and you have a variety of options. Now keep in mind, my style of photography involves scenic, architectural, portraits, and landscapes - all of which this RP handles quite well. If you're a fast moving sports enthusiast, or a birds-in-flight aficionado, then forget about this camera. I ordered mine with the RF 24-105 kit lens (not the L version) as part of a package deal and considering the cost vs performance ratio, this is a superb package price for the kit. The kit lens is fairly good, but like most kit lenses (but not all), the edges are a bit soft and fuzzy. You can get around some of that by setting the camera to an aperture of 8 and above. The center areas are quite sharp. The 24-105 MM range is superb and should endear itself to most photographers. I'd like to start saving for the F4L version of this lens to provide greater clarity across the frame - but in the meantime, this kit lens is really ideal. So overall, considering the price of this kid, the fact that it's full frame, includes a nice kit lens that would cost $400 separately, you can't go wrong here.

Been using the RP for more than a year now. What made me go for the RP is its affordability, i can still say now in 2025 that the RP is still the cheapest full-frame camera in the market. It's worth every money spent! Pros: -Cheapest FF -Decent Sensor Size -Its a canon -face detection -focus is fast but this will only be noticeable on RF lenses. -perfect option for still shots. -very light compared to other full-frame mirrorless cameras out there. Cons: -Its a canon RF mount, this means very limited lens option as of now unless you get an EF adapter. -no IBIS -no animal eye detection -no mechanical shutter, closing the shutters while changing lenses wont be an option. -battery can be an issue if shooting video (very limited video capabilities for 2025). Final thoughts: Though there are some limitations on the RP, it is okay so as this is marketed as an entry camera to full-frame. I would definitely not buy another one, as there is no point. I would invest on the higher tier canon bodies. But i definitely not regret getting the RF as this has been fantastic starter even with the limitations.

I've owned so many great APS-C and full frame cameras both high and low end. This one is my favorite! Canon just nails the colors and so I now rarely shoot raw since the jpgs are that good. The camera fits my hand like a glove and it's super compact but very comfortable to hold - even for extended periods. All the buttons are in easy reach and the camera is highly customizable. The evf and lcd screens are more than adequate and I have no issue when manually focusing (very precise). Autofocus and eye tracking are awesome too - makes shooting portraits a breeze! There are few knocks like battery life, but nothing to really complain about - especially at this price point. Well done Canon!
