My Weird School 21-Book Box Set

Great for readers starting out

I was so excited to see these arrive. The Weird School series is one of my favorites for getting reluctant readers excited about reading. Who wouldn't love a classroom book that starts out, "Hi. My name is AJ and I hate school!" This series has the kids in stitches! It reinforces that reading can be fun.

These are the funniest books ever!!! We just started and we’re halfway through the second book. My kids are supposed to be reading them, but they love when I do different voices and beg me to read. I’ve never seen them laugh so hard. These books are GREAT—highly recommend!!

I have a 7 yo son in second grade who is a reluctant reader and has been on the cusp of falling behind. Normally we will read together, every other page, and he still requires a lot of redirection. I’m honestly been a fight. I ordered this book set because his class was having a reading challenge and I was hoping for something that would fall in his reading level. Well, it has been going better than I expected. It was still a struggle with the first book but by the time we got through the second he has been reading on his own. He is more than keeping up with his reading challenge and he declares he likes the books! I will admit there is some things I don’t love- the I hate school and the main character being annoyed by the “know it all” girl in class doesn’t completely sit well with me. But I’m willing to over look it and understand it’s part of what my son relates too. It will obviously not work for everyone so it’s best to know upfront.

So, my son is (was?) not an avid reader by any meassure. However, when he asked me to get him this series, I immediately ordered this. He goes through these books like there's no tomorrow, and constantly comments on them. I wanted him to acquire the habit of reading, and it was a loosing uphill battle, unitl I got him this series. All 3 packs of books, and he's on his second round of reading them. Kids seem to enjoy this line, and I will be looking for more series from this author.

This book is hilarious. My daughter read one book in one day. It’s filled with many jokes. The writing style is simple. I found the books so interesting that I am considering getting them for Xmas gifts for kids that love to read…and also kids that don’t like reading. This will certainly have them reading. Parents too.

7 year old grandson getting ready to take off reading and 9 year old grandson (reads a whole book himself) and 4 year old grandson just loved sitting and listening to the stories. So funny and relatable to the school aged kiddos. Blends in some educational matter without realizing. Many laughs and undivided attention to the stories. Great great book series.

What fun books!!!! My 7 years old and 4 years old kids love these books. And we grownups are having good time to read them. Highly recommended.

Excellent for 10 to 11 yrs got them for birthday but I read them also

They look all good and my son likes them. But I am a little bit disappointed with them because whole books are black and white including the pictures. The paper is brown and rough. I have borrowed some from our library, which paper is smooth and white with beautiful printed pictures.
