Bad quality
I received the package, i opened it, assembled and turned it on, the arm started to move, my cat started to get curious and started to chase the arm, and then suddenly the arm stopped and had not moved ever since. It’s a nice idea but poor quality.

Keeps cats engaged, very pleased with purchase
This is the best battery operated interactive cat toy I have ever encountered. It has held my 1 year old cat's attention for months since I've gotten it. The battery life is incredible. There are various modes that will go into standby, and reactivate if touched. It has gone weeks on a single charge, and with quite a bit of activity. While in operation, the crinkly noise as the arm moves about is part of the appeal to the cat along with the excellent seemingly random motion algorithms, but what really sets this apart from other battery operated cat toys is the silent operation of the motor. The toy does have a mouse squeak sound effect that can get a little annoying, but there are programs that run without the mouse noise. If you need something for your cat to occupy theirselves with while you are at work, this is an excellent choice and I highly recommend.

Absolutely Perfect
We got this toy for a middle-aged cat who was obese when he came to us. He doesn’t enjoy toys that are obviously manipulated by someone, so we ordered this. We only opened it about a half hour ago, so I can’t yet speak to the charging or its longevity, but he loves it so much, I HAD to run right here to write a review. It was easy to set up right out of the box. The fabric is very sturdy for how flexible it is- he got his claws into it and has been picking it up with his mouth and dragging it around and it’s not showing holes or tearing. He is absolutely OBSESSED with it. He played with it for the whole 15-minute initial timer, and has gone back twice to continue to play with it even as it’s shut down. The noises are not loud enough to be annoying to me (and even if they were, I’m just so happy he’s getting exercise), but they definitely help keep his attention. The toy is the kind that’s been attractive to all of my cats, a little fuzzy thing with a short string, and the way it peeks out from the fabric (which makes a satisfying crunchy sound) simulates prey well.My favorite part is how random the random movements actually are. Like actual prey, the movements are unpredictable, and it held his attention for 15 minutes straight. And he’s been back to it (now for the third time, as I continue to write) to continue to try to catch it even though it’s not squeaking or moving. (It’s off in the last 2 photos)I will probably secure it in the closet for safety when we’re not able to supervise him just in case he ever manages to detach the toy, but it does seem well-made. It seems to deserve the good ratings that helped me decide on it so far- the objective was definitely achieved, and achieved better than I hoped for!

Totally Worth Buying, Best Cat Toy
In my opinion, this is one of the best, if not THE best, automatic cat toys on the market right now. It's all thanks to yellow mode. For reference, I have 2 cats aged 2 & 3. I also have the SmartyKat Hot Pursuit cat toy which looks similar to this one (circular blue cover with moving wand beneath), the UFO smart cat toy, the flapping birdies & fish, and one of those balls that rolls everywhere with a tail that moves about. This toy has 3 modes: blue, purple, & yellow. Both blue and purple modes result in the toy operating for 5 minutes in reaction to being touched. I believe the wand moves faster in purple mode compared to blue mode. In yellow mode, the toy operates for 30 seconds (according to the instructions -- imo, it's more like 10 to 15 seconds) in response to touch and then shuts off again until the next touch. This is critical. Instead of the cat interacting with it, getting bored, and then just watching it move for another 4 minutes and walking away, in yellow mode the cat has to interact with it again and again for the toy to continue operating. The moment the cat bores & doesn't engage, the toy shuts off seconds later. They get less used to its antics that way, especially if you put it down for a day, take it away for a day or two, and then bring it back out again. We've had this toy for at least two weeks and I'm still hearing my cats pounce on it in the middle of the night when they're bored. Definitely the longest they've interacted consistently with an automatic interactive toy. This toy also has a more random movement pattern and can whip back & forth quite quickly to entice the cat. It makes a decent squeak sound (which can be muted), and the cover (which is two layers with the wand between them), is quite crinkly from a noise perspective. The crinkly fabric cover doesn't appear to be removable and doesn't bunch up or fold over on itself, even with cats taking running pounces & sliding into it repeatedly. The crinkly fabric, yellow interactive mode, wand movement, enticing squeaks noise, and the fact that it's rechargeable all makes this toy far superior compared to the SmartyKat Hot Pursuit toy (the version I have of that toy runs on batteries, doesn't make noise, has one silky-ish cover that is easily pulled off or folds up on itself, must be manually turned on by a human (not cat-touch activated), and the wand motion is predictable). In terms of electronic toys a cat can play with without human involvement, it's this toy and the flapping birdy toy my cats play with most often.Something else to note: my 3-year old female cat took to this toy right away (which was interesting as I struggle to get her to play with 99% of cat toys of any type). My 2-year old male cat (who's a bit on the anxious side lately) took several days before he stopped being spooked and voluntarily interacted with it (and then it was ON). So, keep activating it regularly for a week or so if your cat seems more frightened than entertained by it.
