My picky cat Approves of the flavor
I got a small box of this first out of concerns my very picky cat wouldnโt like the powder mixed in with his food. He barely likes snacks. Well- he loved it- so Iโll be buying larger quantities in the future. I think itโs helping with his anxiety as well which was the purpose of buying it. Only downside is the price.

Calming Supplement for Dogs with Depression and Behavior issues
I am fostering a Chihuahua mix that lost his pet parent. I think that he thought that I was keeping him for a few days, but when those few days turned into weeks, he became depressed and lay on the bed for three days motionless, as if he had given up on life. He started exhibiting behavioral issues, such as pacing the floor, not eating his food, whining, and excessive barking, all of which I was informed were not his normal behavior. I started him on these pills, and he came to life and was his old self the next day. I gave him a calming chew until the pills arrived, and although the calming chews helped, the pills helped him a heap more. I enjoy sharing natural pills with my dogs or dogs in my care. I have been spreading the word about these with other pet parents, and I will buy these again. It is a shame that these are only for small dogs up to 22 lbs, as there are pet parents who need them for their larger dogs.

Effective for mild anxiety, not so much for moderate/severe anxiety
I've been pretty happy with Zylkene! I ordered it for two of my anxious senior dogs. It did not work for one of them, but his issues seem to run deeper and he's required something a bit stronger from the vet. For my chihuahua, though, she would tumble every time we ran the dryer before we started her on Zylkene. Since it's a capsule, I just open it and sprinkle it on her food each morning, and it takes the edge off enough that she no longer has issues when we run the dryer.

Actually Effective & Cats Enjoy the Flavor
My boyfriend and I have 3 cats. 2 of them, Gus and Alfador, used to be best buddies, but after a fateful vet visit 5 months ago, they couldn't spend a few minutes together without trying to eviscerate each other. At a follow-up visit, the vet suggested Zylkene as a last ditch effort before Prozac. Additionally, the vet suggested administering Zylkene to Gus (a.k.a. the victim; cats don't care about political correctness). Ironically, our third cat, Penny, is terrified of Gus, so we have been giving Zylkene to her as well. I was very skeptical of this product, especially after my boyfriend went online to research the benefit of casein and only found studies about muscle building. I was also very doubtful that Penny and Gus would eat food dosed with this because they are fussy eaters. However, they not only eat wet food mixed with Zylkene but seem to eat it with extra enthusiasm. (I did taste it--it's lightly salty, with just a hint of bitterness, so perhaps the cats enjoy the salt). Better yet, it is making a big difference in our household. The impact seem to be minimal for Penny (age 5), but Gus (age 16) has responded very positively. His stress around his aggressor has decreased to the point that, while Gus remains timid, he and his brother can stay in the same room without any fights erupting. I am very hopeful that they'll be curling up again together soon, and I can't emphasize enough how much of a relief that is after months of separating them.
