10 out of 10 crowns come up
Good product, all come up as expected. Meanwhile I also bought some (different variety)from other sellers that didn’t come up very well. So I am ordering more to replace those bad ones.

Fast growth.
It's still early, but I followed the instructions and made very sandy soil as directed. It’s only been about a week, and I already have an asparagus stalk protruding from soil. I’ll try to keep you updated as more appear, but overall, I would say it’s of very good quality.

Healthy bare-root plants. The saga begins.
April 17, '26: Day -6: Placed order. Delivery date was given as April 30 which seemed a bit far out. I was hoping it wouldn't result in degraded plants. April 23, '26: Day 0: Plants arrived in the mail a week earlier than schedule, so I was happy about that. Plants are well sealed in the package and look great: no mold or mildew and not dried out at all. These look like healthy bare-root plants. My new asparagus bed was already prepared and waiting, so I had them in the ground within the hour. I fully expect these to grow well. It will likely take 3-6 weeks for shoots to appear. I'll be watching. April 30, '26: Day 7: Three plants have sent up small shoots, one in each. Too small to harvest for sure but that will change next year. Seven plants to go. May 7, '25: Week 2: Eight plants now have shoots. The ones visible last week are growing fast. Two plants to go. May 14, '25: Week 3: Nine of 10 plants have shoots, though one is a laggard. The 10th probably won't make it. 90% success isn't bad. I've got 5 Purple Passion from the same company growing in pots and doing great, so I'll replace the one non-starter with one of the Purple Passions. By fall I should know which plants are female which I'll replace with male Purple Passions now growing in pots.

Regret purchase, choose another seller
Ordered and planted in fall, not one plant came up, all dead. Contacted seller, they closed the ticket with no response. AVOID SELLER.

Plant now, feast later
Asparagus isn't a sprint—it's a marathon. These roots came healthy and ready to go. All 10 sprouted after planting, and they seem to love well-draining soil. If you're the patient type (like, next spring patient), this is a solid investment. Think of it as a garden savings account: deposit now, withdraw spears in 12-18 months.

Arrived healthy and good sized.
I was very impressed with these asparagus roots. They were good sized and arrived healthy. I would say the price was reasonable for the quality of the roots.
