Well worth a shot
I was somewhat skeptical that a machine at this price could be worthwhile but the favorable reviews posted by others convinced me to give it a try. For context, I’ve gone through any number of Nespresso machines that fail after a couple of years daily use and, before that, I’d had several other espresso machines that also failed. The pods are also quite expensive and bit of a pain to buy and dispose of. I’m also convinced they’re bad for the environment. So for the last couple of years I’ve been using a stovetop Moka pot and that has been largely absolutely fine. However, that makes coffee, which is not the same as espresso. So, enter the Casabrews 3700. I am very happy that I made the decision to try it. I now get a very good latte every morning with minimal effort. It warms up quickly and I get 2 cups of espresso very quickly. Be sure to pre-warm the machine before your “pulling” your first shot by just running water through an empty coffee basket into a cup so you have cup of warm water to throw out. Then you’re ready to fill the coffee basket and your espresso now will be at the correct temperature. Clean up is a breeze. The size is small enough to sit on my kitchen counter in a designated area that I use for making my espresso and tea as well as warming/frothing the milk for my morning lattes. I prefer to use the Aeroccino machine that came with one of my late Nespresso machines. The Casabrews comes with a steaming wand that works fine but I find the Aeroccino easier to use and clean. The only negative thing I have to say is not about the machine itself but about an accessory: the Casabrews comes with a combo plastic scoop and tamp, which I’ve replaced with a nicely weighted steel one. The machine is of decent quality and seems to be made from a combination of steel and plastic. I’ve only had it about 10 days now so I have no way of knowing how long it will last, but I think it’s definitely worth the money if you want to make real espresso at home.

Great machine/value!
Great countertop espresso machine! I found it really easy to use with the instructions provided. Quickly warms up and makes your coffee and the milk frother is very easy as well. I think the key to most espresso machines is just making sure they are kept clean and don’t let coffee grounds build up in the dispenser. Enjoy!

Much better quality and reliability than I expected at this price.
Very solid machine for the price. I used to work for a high end coffee company, and I'm used to seeing high end La Marzoccho's. The one's we had were north of 10 grand. This is not 5 stars the way one of those would be. It also costs less to buy than the minimum service call charge on one of those. But for a home user who isn't on the bleeding edge of coffee culture - it close enough. At this price point, it gives up a couple of features. You might have to wait a few seconds when switching between brewing and steaming, because it's a single boiler. If those seconds are sufficiently precious to you, there are companies that will return them to you in exchange for an extra $400. I've never had to wait more than 5 seconds. Oh, it also has a time limit on how long continuously the steamer will run. Then it needs a couple seconds to catch it's breath and it good for another cycle. Don't remember how long it runs, but it's good foe steaming 22 oz off 33F milk to the point where it's hot but not scalding. If you need to steam a larger quantity, you can either wait a couple of seconds and hit the button again, or start making preps for the next shot you're going to need anyway for that Big Gulp latte you're making. It pulls a good shot out of the box, and I have not had to mess with the timing, but adjustments are available and the manual is clear about how to make them. It also has a reset function if you screw it up and need to start over. The water container for it is large enough that I have yet to have to refill it during the day. And I usually don't bother to checking before pulling the first shot of the day. Construction is solid. I mean, I haven't disassembled it or anything. But everything fits precisely - doesn't make unseemly noises, and it would look good on any countertop. No one is going to look at it and get the impression it's cheap. In fact, it's good looking enough that I down play it when ever anyone sees it for the first time. Don't want them thinking I suddenly inherited money or something. I picked this machine after spending a lot of time comparing features, reading reviews, and reflecting on priorities. I could have spent a lot more - but I don't know what else I could have expected. I could have spent a little less, but this looked like my best bet, and I think I won. I have flogged this machine hard. My wife drinks a lot of coffee - for medical reasons actually. I hear people raving about the endurance of machines they operate "at least once a week." I run this one probably 10 times a day average - granted it's only been a couple of months - but it's been utterly flawless. This is kind of a disposable appliance. At a hundred bucks, no one is sending it in for service, no repairman is going to make a house call. But I've probably pull more shots through it than most people pull in a year, without any issues at all, so I am well satisfied with the value.

Wonderful Machine
I waited to review this machine until I had used it for a few months. It has held up extremely well. I'm extremely happy with this machine. It is really well built and a quality home machine for the average person. If you need all of the fancy bells and whistles then this one probably won't suit your needs but for someone who just needs some good espresso and steamed milk, this is phenomenal. It is really well priced for what it accomplishes. I love the metal exterior and just how sturdy this machine feels. There seems to be very little plastic involved which is super nice. My only notes of things I didn't like are the "factory smell" when it first came and how long it takes the cup warmer to get warmed up. Both are pretty manageable and aren't super big issues. To get rid of the factory smell, rinse the heck out of it. It will linger for a bit but it does go away, trust me. The warmer can be "primed" by doing a clear water run first after you turn it on. It gets fairly warm after that. I barely use the warmer anyway but that does get it warmed up. The sound and noise of it is pretty impressive for a budget machine. It will make a loud grumble at first when pouring the shot but it lasts for maybe a second or two and then goes to a low hum during the rest. As for the taste, I have to say it's very nice. I've used a few different types of coffee for it. My favorite so far has been from a local shop that roasts their beans in house and grinds them for you if you ask during the purchase. That's my biggest recommendation for a nice beverage, is fresh quality coffee. I don't have a grinder at the moment but I'm planning on getting one soon to just make it even better. That's the only reason I don't grind them myself. I prefer that type of coffee but I have used Cafe Bustelo with this machine and if you're making lattes, it does the job. I recommend getting better coffee though if you can. The steam wand is one of my favourite parts of this machine and it was a major reason that I gravitated towards this machine. The wand doesn't feel loose or flimsy like many budget machines do. This one is nice, hefty, powerful, and very nice looking. I highly recommend this machine to anyone who just needs a simple yet good machine. It is great for people who are on a budget and can't afford the ones you see in the YouTube shorts from influencer baristas. This one is a great deal. Just work with it a bit and then it'll be easy. It just takes acquainting yourself with it and getting a rhythm going.

After a year of ownership this machine competes with more expensive machines.
About the machine a year ago May 1st 2025. I made an espresso nearly every day I've had it. When I ordered I was skeptical at the lower price compared to more expensive machines but it is exceeded my expectations and kept up with more expensive machines. It heats up quickly makes it nice hot espresso the steamer wand is as hot as you'd expect it to be and does an amazing job. When making expresso with a fine ground it makes a really good crema. The better quality beans you use the better the espresso is. We love the machine so much we created a barista station off between the living room and dining room it is a beautiful looking machine. Coffee beans: the beans I've been using since I bought it is the Italy brand intenso bold roast whole beans I grind it to the finest sitting on my coffee grinder. It is been a staple in our house. After watching a well-known Italian chef do ranking reviews of different expresso beans and his description of this one brand that it makes a richer crema with a smoother taste I ordered the "denisi espresso Italiano gold quality" whole beans. The machine did it justice you could really tell it was a richer yet smoother espresso. I've worked in hospitality for years and I understand that a lesser piece of equipment would not have made the coffee so easy to differentiate. You need a good espresso machine, a good quality grinder, and the best coffee beans you can get your hands on.

Compact Design, Inconsistent Espresso
I’ve been using the CASABREWS 3700 Essential for about a month and a half and have made roughly 200 drinks with it, primarily cappuccinos for myself and flavored lattes for my partner. This is not a casual trial period, and my conclusions are based on daily use. Espresso Performance The espresso extraction is the weakest aspect of this machine. It is extremely temperamental and inconsistent. Even with exact measurements repeated shot after shot, the results vary significantly. If the portafilter is packed even slightly too tightly, or if the grind approaches a true espresso fineness, the machine struggles to produce any meaningful flow. In many cases, barely any espresso comes out at all. I grind my own coffee about 98 percent of the time, and dialing in has been frustrating rather than educational. The grinder settings that would normally be appropriate for espresso are simply too fine for this machine to handle. To test this further, I purchased pre-ground espresso coffee, and the machine could not handle it at all. There was not enough pressure to push water through the puck and achieve a proper extraction. The machine clearly prefers a much coarser grind than most people would associate with bold or traditional espresso. As a result, shots tend to be underwhelming and lack the depth and strength you would expect, which raises doubts about whether it is actually achieving anything close to the advertised 20 bar of pressure. Steam Wand Performance The steam wand itself performs adequately. I have had no issues steaming milk for cappuccinos or lattes, and it produces acceptable foam for everyday milk drinks. If the machine were judged solely on its milk-steaming capability, it would fare much better. Build Quality and Design The compact footprint and simple design are genuinely appealing. It fits well on the counter and does not feel cluttered or overcomplicated. However, the build quality has a significant flaw. The steam control dial does not stay in place. During espresso extraction, the dial gradually turns on its own, allowing pressure to leak out through the steam wand. To prevent this, I have to physically hold the steam dial shut while pulling a shot. This is not a minor annoyance. It directly impacts pressure stability and extraction quality, and it should not be necessary on any espresso machine, regardless of price. The water tank capacity is fine for daily use. I top it off once a day without issue. Ease of Use and Maintenance Cleaning and basic maintenance are straightforward. The drip tray and general upkeep are easy, and I have no complaints in this area. Ease of use in terms of brewing, however, is poor. The machine is extremely finicky about grind size and offers very little tolerance for experimentation. This makes it frustrating for anyone trying to learn espresso fundamentals or fine-tune extractions. Value and Recommendation At its price point, this machine could have been a good value, but the combination of inconsistent extraction, inability to handle proper espresso grind sizes, and the self-moving steam valve undermines that potential. If I did not have to hold the steam valve shut to maintain pressure, my opinion would be more favorable. There are better entry-level options available that are far less touchy and more forgiving, especially for beginners. I would not recommend this machine to new home baristas. It is too finicky, limits experimentation, and does not provide the consistency needed to learn or enjoy making espresso at home. Final Verdict The CASABREWS 3700 Essential has a nice footprint, simple controls, and a functional steam wand, but it falls short where it matters most. Espresso extraction is inconsistent, pressure delivery is questionable, and a fundamental design flaw in the steam dial compromises performance. For those serious about learning espresso or even enjoying consistent daily shots, this machine is more frustrating than helpful.

I would say this machine is well worth it
I had a Breville machine for a long time and loved it but hadn't had an espresso machine for awhile after switching to a Keurig. I bought this one to try and I have to say it works beyond my expectations. The espresso comes out strong and hot as well as the milk frother works extremely well, heating up the milk and the consistency is just right. I have been able to make white mochas for my husband and caramel lattes for my daughter and myself. I am so happy I have an espresso machine again.

Easy to use and makes great espressso
I bought this to make a quick espresso without having to brew a coffee pot. I had no idea it would be this good. I'm also super impressed with the steam function which froths milk, almond, coconut etc very well. Makes everything a pro level cappuccino. I'm sure I will save $$ not going to the coffee shop. This machine is amazing and super easy to use.

Great little espresso maker!
An excellent little espresso maker! Brews great espresso and steamer works perfectly. Ran the rinse cycles as outlined in the instructions and found no issues with taste or smell. I had no previous experience with espresso machines and found this easy to set up and use. I love it's small size as I have limited counter space. The only thing I would change is that I wish the steam arm was slightly higher or that it raised a little further to get my cup under a bit easier.

Awesome customer support!
EDIT: I am upgrading my review to 5 starts due to amazing customer support I received. I was a bit unlucky to receive a machine that makes water smell horrible. I had to ran it with just water for 3-5 times (depending if it is after 9 hrs of hight or just 4 hrs of it being inactive). I tried running citric acid- it did help for a while. Anyways....I got a refund from the company. So my point is: every piece of product cannot be ideal when it leaves the conveyor line in the factory. And this is where customer support comes into play. Yes, I was unlucky to receive probably that one faulty piece, but customer support rectified my disappointment. I am still using the machine (after flushing it with citric acid and continuously flushing with just water) and it is producing amazing espresso! I have just made myself mind-blowing capuchino! I love the build quality of the machine and it does extract coffee to the fullest (silly me, tried to re-use coffee from the Porta filter in my Coffee maker thinking that that there is still so much flavor left and that the espresso machine just couldn't extract it so well...Well all I got was dark brown water with slight aroma of coffee 😅). So yes...the machine does do a great job on that! Oh, and I found my single shot filter scotched thoroughly to the Styrofoam packaging! So make sure you check the packaging well before complaining they had forgotten to put another filter (just like I did lol). Bellow is my original review: I have to run it with an empty filter three times before I can make my first cup of espresso. I put fresh water which doesn't smell (and water reservoir doesn't smell either). Apparently, there is a compartment inside the machine where water stays (and heats up for your espresso) and after staying there overnight it starts smelling like a process water or technical water. Another thing, just like many others noted here, my machine arrived with one filter missing. There is supposed to be two: single and double portion filter, but I received only one. The espresso however tastes well after running the machine three times empty. Well, what would you expect from an espresso machine of that price , right?
