Great charger

Absolutely quality bit of kit, my project work van had been sitting for months with a dead battery and after having this on the battery is as good as new and not needed to worry about battery life as this is now plugged in permanentl, I now have it on maintenance mode and have not had to worry about it since, its incredibly easy to use and comes with 2 different types of connector leads, I have it hard wired into my battery and it has some very nice clips if you wish to disconnect at any point. The price is extremely reasonable as depending on the type of battery you have they can become very expensive and this charger will charge them all.

This kits comes in a nice storage bag and with good length leads in and out. It has good quality clamps for temporary connection but also ring lead connectors so you an fit it to your vehicles battery and leave attached, then just plug the charger into the leaqd with the quick connect plug when needed. It is a good average/mid-range output, 5A max, and the whole item seems well made and well thought out, with good connectors and clamps for example. This make is a real brand, its sold in Halfords for example , and while their own brand ones are half the price, this CTEK one is cheaper than it is in Halfords at this time, so for the brand the £80 (May '25) price is ok value, though less good value if you are not bothered about brand when compared to own brand versions from stores. Also this indicates the battery condition and charge status etc using a series of 3 LED, rather than a LCD screen, that can of course give more info and is mnuch clearly to use. There are also LED for the different modes. Of course it works well and pretty quickly on standard car/bike/van batteries. Its also nice that it has LED on the connector plug for the battery charge., and has a good case, not just a card box. So a good mid-speed charger without screen, but at a price because a branded name.

Brilliant charger and, with the permanent connection fitted on the car, so easy to connect. This is my second CTEC charger. Still using the 10 year old original to keep my caravan battery charged, the only reason for purchasing the new one was because the selector button was reluctant to work.

Honestly this is worth it if your not using your car a lot or just don't trust the battery. Installed the supplied quick connect kit, no holes drilled, bolt positive on battery and chassis of car (as per instructions for my own vehicle but can go straight to battery) I've hidden the connector just behind the bonnet, 3 lights show the status, red/amber/green, charger shows when it's ready and supports regular or agm batteries, on first use I forgot to press the mode button to switch to agm but it seems to be fine just have to remember to change it. The option for both jump leads and a perminant hook up is what made me look at this, if you have multiple cars we'll worth nothing the kit per car seperately I feel being able to buy the connect kits so cheap is brilliant, at the time of this review the regular one is just under £6 and the fancy one with the 3 lights is £12, extensions are pretty cheap too if you can't get to a socket nearby, combing that with the option of the ctek portable jump packs it just seems like a nice little system they've made. This kit is nice with the bag and option for regular jump starter cables, well recommended
