Great shoe
Sept 2018I’m usually a size 6.5-7, and I bought a size 7. So far I have tried them on with wool socks and walked around. It is perfectly snug, not too tight or big. The shoe cradles my feet and feels so comfortable. I don’t think it will take long to break these in. They also appear to give good ankle support. Might update review after my next backpacking trip in a few weeks. So far, so good.Update October 2019Have gone on some backpacking trips up to 20 miles as well as a 50 mile trek. The shoes have held up well without any shoe lace holes ripping. Was even able to put them in the washer on delicate and air dry without any damage. I have very tender and bony feet, and these shoes are very stiff and hurt my left heel after 12 miles. I usually prophylactically bandage my pressure points prior to a long hike. So far no blisters. Great ankle support. Still sticking to what I said about minimal time to break in. And the water proofing is legit. No issues stomping through shallow streams. The one thing I wish was better is the traction. I slipped a few times going 3000ft down muddy/rainy trail compared to my friends with La Sportiva, who had deeper tread and did not slip.

Favorite shoe hands down
This is my THIRD pair of Ahnu Monteras in the last ~5 years. This is an outstanding boot overall. The quality is just perfection. I love the support they provide. Many shoes I wear are lacking in arch, heel, and/or ankle support. But in these, I can be in these on my feet hiking, walking, or standing all day without my feet aching. They don’t easily overheat or cause sweaty feet and I find them comfortable even in the heat of summer. They are nice enough to be worn in a casual office setting but durable enough to wear in field conditions that don't require a safety toe.I also think that the waterproofing is exceptional. I have worn a pair of Monteras in my flooded cellar when the Water was almost to the laces. After at least an hour the only moisture in my boot was caused by condensation due to the ice cold water and my warm feet!

The best shoes I have ever owned!
You guys, these boots are AMAZING!!! I have put them through a LOT since I purchased them about 3-4 months ago. I work at a garden and I'm constantly on the move to maintain the property.I have used them in the rain, 90+ degree and high humidity weather, on inclines, in dirt and mulch, walking, squatting, even a bit of running and they have held up like champs.I have used them extensively, 5 days a week in very outdoorsy conditions. They are surprisingly breathable which was one of my priorities for a hiking boot because I hate when my feet get hot cause they sweat a lot and tend to make my shoes pretty gross, but with these shoes and my wool socks, I stay nice and dry. Even on days where it was 100°F my feet miraculously didn't get hot! I think that also has to do with my socks though cause if you wear the wrong socks, your feet will suffer no matter how good the shoe is, but still even on days where I have to wear crappy socks, these boots still keep my feet happy. The ankle support is also very good. The only negative thing is that because I tend to sweat a lot in my feet and ankles, the top of the shoe, which is turquoise on the inside, rubbed off on one of my pairs of socks because of the moisture. For me it wasn't a big deal at all but it might be for other people. But I literally can't say enough about how much I loved these!!! They are worth every penny for sure. Also, I am shocked that these boots have some bad reviews

Light and attractive but quality issues
I am extremely picky when it comes to boots. I was looking for something to wear while hiking in Iceland that wouldn’t be hot but would also be water proof. This boot checked those boxes. Plus, it’s cute, not huge, and was very comfortable. However, after the first wear, they tore on a very easy hike. I was so disappointed and had to return them.

Fits like a glove and very Comfortable!
Women's Hiking boots. Love these hikers. lightweight and waterproof these books make it a breeze to take a hike or even a jog through all terrain keeping feet dry and not feeling like your working at picking up your feet. didn't even have to 'break' them in. Only off putting feature that is of any notice is the opening for the foot as it is a bit narrow.

Amazing hiking boots
These boots are awesome! I'm so glad I ordered them. They are comfortable and functional. I ordered my regular size and they fit perfectly. I've worn these boots on hiking trails and on the lake shore and they keep my feet warm and dry. I can attest they are waterproof. I've never encountered any discomfort with these boots - no blisters or rubbing. If you're on the fence about getting them, get them.

Should have bought my regular size
I'm usually a size 8 (sometimes 8.5) and ordered these in 8.5 after reading some reviews. I should have gone with an 8 for sure. There is way too much room in the length of the foot. I would have to wear very thick socks, maybe two pairs of socks, or add an insert in order to wear these comfortably. Unfortunately I need them right away so will have to make do. Apart from that, these boots are great. They are lightweight and don't feel clunky to walk in, unlike other hiking boots I've owned. They also seem well constructed and the top of the shoe has some flexibility. I haven't tried them outdoors yet but can tell that these would hold up well to different kinds of terrain and weather conditions. They are also nice looking and could pair well with jeans for a casual outfit. Overall very pleased with my purchase.
