SmallRig has become one of my go-to brands for rigging accessories, and this mount has the solid, purpose-built feel I expect from their gear. The magnetic phone attachment is incredibly convenient. Being able to quickly place or remove the phone without constantly opening and closing a traditional clamp makes a huge difference when you're moving quickly between shots. It's especially useful when using a phone as a secondary monitor, reference screen, behind-the-scenes camera, or additional content device. I also really like the metal construction. Camera rigs get assembled, adjusted, packed, unpacked, and moved around constantly, so having a mount that feels substantial is important. It integrates nicely with the rest of a professional camera cage instead of feeling like a lightweight plastic phone accessory. The cold shoe mounting option is another big advantage. Picked this up to mount my phone on top of my camera for behind-the-scenes shots and it works exactly as advertised. The magnet is strong — locks my iPhone in place with a solid snap, no wobble even when I’m moving around. MagSafe alignment is perfect. Build quality is what you’d expect from SmallRig. All metal, feels heavy-duty, no plastic anywhere. The cold shoe mount slides into my camera’s hot shoe cleanly and tightens down with no play. Also has a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom so I can stick it on a tripod or cage too. Setup took literally 10 seconds. No tools, no fuss. Phone goes on and off in a second which is great when I need to switch between filming and texting. Only thing to note — if your phone doesn’t have MagSafe or a MagSafe case, this won’t work. I’d recommend grabbing a magnetic ring sticker if you’re on Android. For the price, it’s a no-brainer for anyone doing dual-camera content or BTS work

This item is very durable and solid. The hinges are tight enough that they're not going to go swinging but loose enough that you can manipulate it just fine. The magnetic grip works well with both apple and Google pixel style (magsafe/ pixel sna)p devices. Mounts perfectly in your hot shoe or cold shoe. I just don't have nearly as much use for it as I thought I was going to. I genuinely thought I would use this more often when I was out shooting, but I still prefer to use the evf + the back panel. not using my phone for any Lightroom work. If I need to do Lightroom in the field I'll use my tablet and my tablet doesn't have the pixel snap/ magsafe magnetic points on it so my tablet wouldn't work.

The build quality is honestly excellent — very solid, premium-feeling metal construction, smooth adjustment points, and exactly the kind of quality I’ve come to expect from SmallRig products. It definitely feels durable and professional right out of the box. What I liked most was how versatile it is. The cold shoe mount and rotating adjustment system make it really convenient for mounting a phone to a camera rig, tripod, stabilizer, or even for simple desktop setups. Being able to quickly switch between portrait and landscape orientation is a nice touch, and the dual rotating hinges make positioning surprisingly flexible. The overall design is compact without feeling flimsy, and it integrates nicely into existing camera gear setups without adding too much bulk. I also appreciated the extra threaded mounting points since they give you more options for accessories and rig customization. That said, the main reason I’m knocking the rating down slightly is the magnetic strength. It’s not terrible by any means, and for normal use it holds fine, but compared to some other MagSafe-style mounts I’ve used, this one definitely feels a little weaker than expected. If you’re stationary or using it carefully indoors, it’s perfectly usable. But for more active shooting situations, moving rigs, quick repositioning, or anything involving bumps/vibration, I found myself wishing the magnet had a bit more holding power for extra confidence. Especially with heavier phones or thicker cases, the grip doesn’t feel quite as locked-in as some competing mounts. If SmallRig improves the magnetic strength in a future revision, this would easily be a perfect 5-star accessory. For now, I’d give it a solid 4 stars. Very useful piece of gear — just not quite as secure magnetically as I hoped.

I love this mount so much! Feels like a very strong material, has a very nice feel to it, incredibly easy to mount and change the angle! I also do like that it's a very strong black metallic material, it's makes the mount look THAT much more professional! Overall, this in combination with your cameras monitor app, 10/10 setup all around! It has led to some great shots, and has helped me when I needed that second eye! Great value for what it is.

Worked exactly as advertised. I love that I can now capture video and photos at the same time During my sessions. Clips onto my camera easily and feels sturdy. Very happy with this purchase.

Love having my phone mounted to my camera with the screen mirrored. Easy to mount in any cold shoe, just insert and twist the knob and its secure. I do wish the top of the mount could twist instead of being limited to just back and forth. Would make for better micro adjustments but overall, Ive been able to find the right angles to place the phone while shooting. It makes taking low shots so much more comfortable and visible. Also good for getting steady movements when recording as you can tuck your elbows and camera very close to your body and use the phone display to see what youre shooting. Fits snug and feels secure. Good value for the price, i prefer these magnetic mounts over the grip mounts. Easier to use, just snap on and pull off whenever needed and the phone still feels very secure.

I think this is one of the best phone mounts for iPhone, the magnet is super strong and hold the phone tight, never felt like it was going to fall off or anything. The mounting options for tripods or hotshoe of cameras is endless. Built quality is world class, worth the money

La calidad de construcción es indiscutible. Muy buena como nos tiene acostumbrados la marca. El imán del Magsafe es mas que suficiente, ¿que me hubiera gustado un poco más fuerte? Si, pero cumple bien las expectativas. El enganche en zapata fría es perfecta. Recomiendo el producto sobretodo si usas tu iPhone como monitor.

it's well built, sturdy and does it job. I lost my previous iPhone support for my Ulanzi MT-73 tripod and bought as a replacement. Since it was an universal one, it was a bit of a hustle to set it up. The magsafe feels strong and it definitely makes things easier.
