Perfect Regular Alarm Clock
No connecting to WiFi, no sounds that get progressively louder (which I find REALLY annoying), standard “beep” sound, easy-to-read with a small footprint. Then, add onto this a Central Snooze Bar and a separate On/Off switch on the top of the click that can be easily operated without putting your glasses on. Then, it plugs into a regular wall outlet, so you don’t have to constantly feed it batteries or worry about recharging it all of the time. Another perk is a 9-volt battery backup to save your alarm and the time in case of a power outage. You won’t be able to see it until the power comes back on, but it will ring reliably. I also love the little nightlight on top,but I don’t know that you could change the light bulb if the light burns out.

Just about perfect
Back to basics! Simple, does the job, no useless bells and whistles. Feels sturdy (like I won't smash it with my first attempt at Snooze). Has all the features I want and none of the junk I don't want. Nice easy-on-the-eyes green numbers, big but not too big, not too dim not too bright. Snooze button with optional light-up option for it. You actually have to move switches--good firm switches--to activate the time-setting buttons. That means you can smack the snooze button without worrying about accidentally resetting the time, or activating a radio, or an Ipod, or a dual alarm*, or a projection, or the weather, or nature sounds, or..... I don't want the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. I just want a decent freakin' alarm clock that's easy on the wallet. I never even use the radios on clock radios, but it's all I could find until now! This has a 9-volt battery backup. It plugs in and doesn't run just on batteries. Decent length cord. Loud but not deafening beep, 9-minute snooze that repeats at least several times. Distinctive snooze button look and feel, so you don't have to hunt for it. What's the point of a snooze button if you have to sit up in bed just to find it without activating a hundred other features?! Decent weight for such a small thing, especially with the battery in it. Yes, I was surprised by how small it is, no bigger than a fat donut with an end sliced off. But, that works for me. The only improvement would be rubber non-slip feet. It isn't top heavy, but is small enough that it might get knocked off the table. It feels solid enough, though, to survive that just fine (at least on carpet... but who in their right mind has cold marble or tile floors right next to their bed). You wouldn't believe how many clocks I've been through, or looked at, the last few years that had incredibly stupid, useless or extravagant features. *And what's with dual alarms, anyway? Pointless unless you have twin beds with a table in between. Even then, why put your own alarm near your partner's head? And if you, like most couples, sleep in the same bed, you have to reach over your partner to turn it off...probably waking them up in the process. Duh! Save your money and just buy two of these; one for each side of the bed! Basic. Well-built. Simple; no User Manual required! Finally, somebody gets it! Thanks, RCA! I rarely rave about a product, but it's about time some real thought went into providing a basic quality product, instead of just flimsy, poorly-designed, gadget-laden junk.

Small, basic, easy to use.
Small and basic. Just what we needed to replace another alarm clock that stopped working. It does have a battery back up (or so it says) when I added a 9 volt battery to this thing I thought it would turn on even without being plugged in. But it did not. I'm not really that concerned though. It also has one other perk and that is a snooze button that lights up, so it's easier to see. We don't use that feature, but maybe you would. The display itself is easy to read from across the room. Very easy to program the time in. No problems at all. UPDATE 4/3/18 - Having used it for awhile, it's working fine. No complaints. Glad I was able to get an inexpensive alarm clock. I don't need lots of bells and whistles. No regrets.

Great Alarm Clock
Nice simple alarm clock. Easy to read and small enough it doesn't take up the whole nightstand. We have three of these with the oldest being 20 years or more old. They all work great. I was going to order 2 more but if you want one now it has to be the Amazon version. I bought a couple new RCA on eBay.

Excellent clock, easy to read, small and unobtrusive, but the numbers aren't too small to see, even for a myopic like me.
Perfect little clock which is easy to use. We keep these near television sets so we can see what time it is (for our programs) -- bright enough to see with the TVs on, but not so bright as to be annoying. I don't even notice it, until I look directly at it to check the time. I like the fact that it is easy to reset. This latest one was to replace one that was the devil to reset. We loose power frequently in our FL winter home, just for seconds. I don't want to have to struggle to reset the time. I would like it in the bedroom, too, but have the expensive name brand clock radio - CD player in there, so not needed. I would use it there if I didn't have something else. I am going to get another for our guest bedroom. Besides, the green color is nice, not overpowering. I HATE the ones with red numbers. They are creepy and evil looking to me. Highly recommend this nice little unobtrusive clock. It is a very good value.

Functional cheap could use improvement: works on backup battery?
My main gripe with this clock is that it says battery backup; if I don't get up disaster would occur; if electric goes out and I don't get up disaster occurs; I assume the 9 V battery is working; I don't know that for a fact because like many of these clocks inexplicably if the power goes out nothing works but the alarm; the clock's manuals claims it keeps time and will wake you up at that time you set the wake up, though you will look at the clock and you shall not know what it is that time. What a ridiculous mess. If I want to do use this clock as a travel clock and I want the display to be displayed I want the option for that to happen. The clock is inexpensive so I guess they have an excuse to say pay more and will get more. My research shows though that it is very difficult to find a clock actually continues fully functional on backup power. If somebody made a $10 alarm clock that actually fully functioned with backup battery power I think it would make a bazillion dollars. Capitalism: build it and they shall come. Capitalism works if you work it properly. Couple of other quick notes, it's not too bright, the volume is not too loud not too low, very easy to use, other than the issue I raised above which is huge to me, good alarm clock. Manufacturer: are you reading this? I took time to write this not just to help others but for you to cut it out and fix the stupidity. Why is it manufactures don't seem to understand the sick commonsense things?

I love them both
I have both the RD20 and the RD30. I love them both! I use the RD30 for home use, as it has a brighter and larger display, for me to see at night since I am nearsighted. I use the RD20 for travel, as it is smaller and somewhat dimmer, because I have it right next to my eyes for viewing at night. Also, it has a nightlight, which helps in motel rooms. They are both so easy to use and setup. You don't even need the directions. I've had other clocks that have taken an engineering degree to figure out how to use them, not so with these. They are simple, accurate and to the point! They both have a battery backup as well, which I learned the hard way, that I needed that feature. I had an old alarm clock that I was using for travel, which didn't go off and made me miss my flight! Anyway....these are great and at a great price too!

Great clock at a great price
This little alarm clock gets the job done at a great price. This is a no-frills clock that does exactly what I need it to. It has an easy to program alarm, it wakes me up reliably, and it lets me know the time. The digital display shows the time in the dark without being too overwhelmingly bright. I've had clocks whose displays would light up my room. This one does not. Setting the time and the alarm is easy and intuitive. The alarm is loud enough to wake up a sound sleeper- I can say this with assurance, as I am very resistant to waking up. The best thing about this clock is the price- cheap and cheerful! I've just ordered my second of these clocks for another room. When I need an alarm clock, this is my go-to.

The worst product. Accuracy is absolutely worst.
Misleading information as per the web site. Doesn't have FM Radio while your web site shows that this is equipped with the FM Radio. Secondly the part is the TIME ACCURACY. Not at all reliable on the xorrect time display. Every after ONE HOUR we have to adjust the correct time otherwise it will give us the WRONG TIME.
