Wonderful harddrive for storing large quantities of information.

26tb Expansion drive, Dec2025, purchased for $309. Transfer speeds holds steady at 100-220mb/s over usb3, which is about as fast as the internal spin drives could push data. The case is a little thin and flimsy feeling compared to historical analogs, but there's plenty of vent holes, it doesn't matter at all to me that it's a bit thinner. It's plenty strong.I liked that it was formatted in advance, it plugs into my windows machines and Linux mint and Ubuntu machines seamlessly when unencrypted. Diag tool says it was a brand new drive, not a refurb.

This drive holds much more than I think I will need in my lifetime, but I love having the space. I would love to say it's reliable and I am still not certain if it's my machine, but when my computer goes to sleep the drive disconnects and sometimes has difficulty being seen again by the computer. Eventually, things work out though. I did not expect the drive to be as fast as it is, but it sure is fast. Like most external drives it's plug and play, so fairly easy to set-up and use. It does not seem to get very hot, though it does heat up after some use. Still for the price it was a great deal.

Superior speed (I noted nearly double the rate - about 220 mb/s) over previous models and so much space to store backups! Worth every penny!

Horrible. The equipment never worked. It came with old USB input boards, and the seller was not trustworthy.

As others have noted this drive runs pretty hot. Its temperature got up to 63C during the backup before I noticed something was off and 60C is its official upper threshold (50C is what the internet says should be the safe upper limit). The drive was operating next to a cold window in a cool room so the environment was not the issue. Were it not for the poor temperature control and the somewhat high price ($350 as of late Jan 2026) I'd have rated it higher. It might be fine as an internal drive or moved to an external enclosure with active cooling.

Only lasted 1 year 1 month, all data is gone now. It was a good drive for the first year though.

the disk was right away making tons of loud constant clicking sounds or fast rotating ones like a very loud clock ticking constantly. Seagate adviced me to send it back as its not supposed to make such loud noices

Dysk nie jest cichym dyskiem ale używam go jako kopia wiec mi to nie przeszkadza ze potrafi dosyć słyszalnie "chrobotać" Jednak dla mnie sprawuje się bardzo dobrze nie mam z nim żadnych problemów. Przychodzi dobrze zapakowany. W środku u mnie był Exos ale podobno trafiają sie też Barracudy. Dysk był nowy. Po weryfikacji SMART nie był wyczyszczony przez producenta, nie jest to refubrished jak sugerują opinie z innych krajów. Przynajmniej mój. Żałuje trochę że nie kupiłem dwóch. Kupiony za 800zl. Polecam w tej cenie bardzo
