MSI Vector 16 HX AI Gaming Laptop - (16" 16:10 QHD+ 240Hz 500 nits Panel, Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Windows® 11 Home Advanced) - Cosmos Gray

Bought this to replace my older Asus Tuf Gaming Latop. First impressions were.. this is a big and heavy laptop. However I knew all this before purchase because I wanted the RTX5070Ti and the Intel Ultra 7 HX processor. I was not dissapointed. Performance is excellent playing all my games on this laptop it doesnt even break a sweat.. Has a suitable 330w PSU providing more than enough power to the CPU and Graphics Fans are a bit noisy, due to the HX processor (which is really a desktop CPU) and to keep it cool they need to be on !. Keyboard is great to type on and the screen although its an IPS panel it still has some really good colour and contrast. I wasnt expecting much, but I am impressed with the performance of the screen. Big let downs are the poor performing SSD.. (Only 512GB and its PCI 4.0) I removed this drive and replaced it with a faster and larger 5.0 SSD Also the DDR 5 Ram is 5600 and only 16gb.. I Missed out on the pre AI price hike on memory so I didnt bother getting 32gb, Im not paying £400+ for 32GB of RAM - but 16gb works ok.. and I have had no issues using the laptop daily with this amount of RAM... I had a issue with connecting an external monitor to the thunderbolt/USB 4 port... Turns out that a bios update was needed (wasnt available until end of December 2025) so version 116 fixed that issue! (after spending lots of time wasted speaking to MSI tech supoprt) Had some minor issues with a sound bug.. Stuttering sound and laptop freezing up.. But seems to be fixed now.. I managed to get the laptop for £1450 at the time of purchase (nearly £200 off) on Amazon so keep an eye on the price... I suspect this will rise over the next few months because of RAM shortage/Price hikes. The HX processor is a beast and out performs my desktop in some benchmarks (i9 14900k) so I was very suprised with that!... And having a RTX5070Ti is great, as it performs between a desktop 4070 and 4070ti !.. I would recommend getting this laptop YES - as it is at a excellent price point and performer..

Staggeringly good laptop performance. The display and sound is more than adequate, obviously and external display is preferred. 12gb VRAM was the reason I purchased this Laptop, with the purpose of futureproofing as best as possible. Weight and portability is also great. downside is the size of onboard SSD which is upgradeable (Two slots). RAM also isn't enormous but again, upgradeable and easily passable for most applications as is. With the correct tuning (Available on Nvidia App) and settings enabled, this card is currently running ES: Oblivion remaster at max ultra settings, ray tracing, path tracing etc at a comfortable 85-100fps in 4k resolution on my external display. (An incredible difference seen in different resolutions like 1440p, frame rates in the 200s on ultra) With DLSS Frame gen on automatic (Balanced setting). Overall I am blown away by the performance of this machine. The build quality is good but not the highest of premium materials which is fine for the price. Here we are paying for raw performance. It truly makes my previous MSI laptop look like an antique. Temperatures are great, never surpassing the magic 80oc. Fan noise can be rather deafening but can be turned down easily enough. Though some MSI models have had a sketchy reputation with screen hinges and heat etc, I see absolutely no reason why that will be the case with this laptop. Overall 9.5/10 experience so far, windows 11 can let the side down a fraction.

Using since yesterday, let's start with good things. Performance is great generally but especially with multi frame generation supported games, it's easy 150 fps on every game. Built quality is good and screen is nice. Now bad things; Fans are extremely loud. 16 gb ram is not enough and 512 gb mediocre ssd for this price range is joke actually. I will use it for a while but I think I will return it while I can.

The product looks amazing and performing like a beast, very haooy about it for now, but lets see how it goes on the future. Only downside, it come with RAM 5600mt/s and not with the 6400mt/s cso-dimm as written in description, a bit disappointed about this. Extra, i know for experience that is not the easiest laptop to upgrade, would be amazing if they made it easier to upgrade ram and ssd. Opening this is pretty hard (tried on another vector16, but is same case model) UPDATE: I have been using the device for a month actually and this is my final review... Happy about- Cpu perform amazing Gpu perform amazing Monitor looks amazing Not Happy about- SSD is very small and does not perform really good as expected, is pretty bad to be honest even if a gen 4 ssd. Ram at 5600 when 6400 is supported, i purchased a kingston fury impact with xmp up to 6400 and did not work with xmp profile, maybe because is not csodimm. Laptop fells less wellbuilded than my previous MSI of same price range. Keyboard does not fell as good as expected. Keyboard is not with per key rgb but was known before purchase. Overall i am happy this and hope is going to last 6 years or more as the other one. IMPORTANT I used HWMonitor and Hwinfo64 and they was causing freezer or shut down of the laptop.

What should have been a powerful laptop in my experience was a crash filled and utterly frustrating horror show of an experience. After testing games out and most of them crashing some repeatedly too, for example Cyberpunk 2077 and Fortnite I reset this and put it back in box and sent it back to Amazon! Couldn't be bothered with anymore of my time being wasted trying to persevere with something that clearly isn't fit for selling to gamers. I have no idea what MSI's quality testing is like on products they sell but this MSI Vector in its current mess of crashes and problems shouldn't be allowed to be sold. Amazon sorted a refund and hopefully it will be a quick process. I can only say avoid this laptop completely, special mention to the 512GB SSD pathetic storage and poor speeds and performance for an SSD! Only game I came across that didn't crash before I reset it completely then sent it back was Mad Max but that game can run maxed out and high resolution on most gaming laptops and desktops it's not a demanding game. I have owned an MSI laptop in the past and it was good and had no issues but this thing was absolutely terrible sadly. 1⭐out of 5 (If I could score it 0 I would)

Fantastic laptop for the price. The performance is astonishing - it's about 50-60% faster in most games than my previous 2022 Ryzen 7 / RTX 3070 laptop all while running at more than twice the screen resolution. Performance heavy applications like Photoshop and FL Studio run like butter. The build quality is solid and the display is excellent although, admittedly, opening it up to get to the RAM/SSD is not easy. The keyboard is great to type on and looks beautiful with the RGB backlight. Very pleased with this purchase.

Overall brilliant laptop quality with great functionality and well made, Great screen resolution very vibrant, fast processor speed, very loud fan noise dosent really bother me if i have headset on, also has decent battery usage, runs most games on ultra with ease, weights and little on the heavy side. Nahimic sound card is a bit of a nightmare.iverall very powerful laptop for the price.

this laptops performance is insane I like the design of it and the screen man colours be colouring I have not came across any issues so far, however people do complain about the fans getting loud and to that I say if the fans ain’t roaring then I am snoring. but still PERFECT LAPTOP
