Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask, Red Light Therapy, Under-Eye Cooling, FW312PL

When I initially started using red light therapy masks, I started with a lesser-known brand that was significantly less expensive than this Shark CryoGlow. I have commitment challenges with beauty routines, and until I had established a pattern where I regularly used a mask, I decided I didn’t get to invest in one this pricey. Well, I developed a routine where I used my previous mask every day, so I started researching which name-brand version would be the best option for me to purchase. In virtually every ranking, this item, the Shark CryoGlow, was ranked first, which made the decision easy. This item arrives very neatly packaged in a sturdy product box that includes the mask, with the remote attached, a carrying bag, two pairs of under-eye cooling attachments, and a charging cable and power block in the same color as the mask. I ordered this item in the color Lilac Chill, and it is a very pretty, light purple color. This style of mask is a hard shell that, during use, only touches your face at the under-eye area and near the eyebrows, where soft pads help keep it in position. It is lightweight, comfortable, and easy to use on a daily basis. When I first started to use the item, I didn’t realize that the under-eye cooling attachments are only needed if the mask doesn’t fit closely enough to your face that your under-eye area doesn't touch the pads that are already built into the device. My face doesn’t need the extra snap-on eye pieces, but this feature is a great way to ensure that the mask is comfortable for many different face sizes. Beyond that, adjusting the fit is as simple as velcroing the top strap into a comfortable position and then sliding the side straps into place until the mask is resting evenly on your face. Using the mask is simple. Each option is selected using the center silver button, first with a long press to power it on, then by scrolling to the left or right using the same button, then with a short press to select different options, and finally with another long press to turn it off. The backwards arrow button on the left allows you to go back to the prior menu, while the snowflake button on the right allows you to adjust the under-eye cooling settings. You can access the treatments under the Routines menu, and if you’re curious about how frequently you have used the mask, you can see exactly how many times each treatment has been completed under the Your Progress menu. Under Settings, you can replay the tutorial, access support, change the language, adjust the brightness, view the product version info, and reset the device. This device has four different modes that include Better Skin (6 minutes of red light), Skin Clearing (1 minute of blue light, 4 minutes of pink light, and 3 minutes of red light), Skin Sustain (4 minutes of pink light), and Under Eye Revive (5–15 minutes of no light, with only the under-eye cooling pads activated). If someone feels the need to interrupt your me time, you can short press the center silver button to pause the treatment and then short press it again to resume. When your selected treatment is completed, you can use the remote to either go pick a different treatment, or you can indicate that you are done, and the mask will turn off. During each session, you can adjust the under-eye cooling feature across three levels of cooling, or you can turn it off completely, without impacting the lighting functions or the timing of each treatment. If it feels like the under-eye cooling pads stop working, this is partially because your eye area has adjusted to the cooling temp and it has become less noticeable, but also sometimes because they legitimately do stop working and can be restarted by cycling through the cooling levels using the snowflake button. The under-eye cooling pads are one of the primary features that differentiate this device from every other red light mask on the market, and ohhh, I love them so much. They depuff my eyes nicely, they help to keep my face cooler when the lights are on, and they greatly add to the relaxation part of the experience. In short, they are flipping fabulous. In terms of battery life, this device will last about 30 minutes before you get to the last bar. I find it easiest to just plug it in when I’m done using it so that I never have to be annoyed by a dead battery. Shark has recently added a new charging base to the CryoGlow product family, which is available in colors that match the masks. At the time of this review, this is not available on Amazon (sad face) and seems to only be available for purchase as part of a combo mask set or individually on the Shark website. I think the charging base would probably make it easier to remember to keep this charged and to ensure that, when not in use, this device is always positioned on the charger, which will ideally be located in a place where no one can sit on it, step on it, or otherwise break your beautiful mask. As a final point, I personally needed a mask that allowed me to do other things while I was using it, so I needed a design that didn’t make me feel like I was being blinded by the lights if my eyes were open during use. While initially I thought that the lights were too bright to keep my eyes open, I was actually using this device while I was writing this review because I couldn’t remember how long the different colored lights stayed on during the Skin Clearing treatment, and I wasn’t sure of the exact names of all of the different settings. Although it takes a bit to adjust, and your eyes are definitely exposed to the different colored lights, I have had no issue using this mask while watching TV, working at my desk, reading a book, or scrolling mindlessly on my phone. Worst case, in the Settings area, you can always turn down the brightness level. Overall, I love this item, and I am very happy that I finally invested in the device that is widely rated as being the best commercially available light therapy mask. While I have not yet used it for the many weeks that are required to see a noticeable improvement in my skin, I feel like my face is already a bit softer and a bit brighter, although, to be fair, that is very likely a placebo effect, and I am optimistically imagining things. Either way, I appreciate that this mask gives me the option to do something for myself every day in a timeframe that is realistically fast enough that nothing else is being sacrificed in exchange for my own self-care.

I love this mask! I had been wanting to try a led mask for a while now but have been nervous to purchase from an unknown brand. I was excited to see this from Shark, I already have many of their products and have never had a problem. I see they also have a great warranty. I was a little nervous about the comfort after reading reviews commenting on the fit of the eye pads. I do agree that they tend to push on my upper cheek bone but it’s not terrible and I am sure I could play around with it to get a better fit if it really bothered me. I like the cooling fans a lot, they do drain the battery but charging is simple so I don’t see a problem. I have been using it consistently for a couple weeks (I do 3 cycles back to back because 6 minutes feels short) and I already see an improvement in my skin tone and possibly my smile lines. You need to be sure to moisturize after because I do notice a slight bit of increased irritation/dryness (possibly because I use more than directed, but it makes me feel like it’s working!) My husband made fun of me at first and didn’t believe they work but now I catch him using it after he read it can help heal scars (he had a large skin cancer removed recently).

There aren't a ton of reviews focusing on acne and so I wanted to write one. I have a 16 year old son who really started to have a lot of acne in the last year. We tried a lot of different products, including prescription topicals (and over the counter products), pillowcases and more, which didn't help much and sometimes made things worse. This was wirecutter recommended so I bought it for my aging skin and my son's acne, thinking that it might work for at least one of us. It took probably a 3-4 weeks of daily use before seeing major differences for him and now we've had it for three months and the difference is huge. It hasn't cleared 100% of pimples but probably 80-90% of them. The ones that occur now seem smaller and seem to go away faster. It too seems to help fade the scars that exist. It seems especially effective on the cheeks. So, if you've tried other things and don't want to go the accutane route, this would be worth a try.

I’ve been using this for almost a year and I still absolutely love this mask. It’s made of such amazing quality it’s super strong and durable. I love the eye cooling effect which is what sold me on it to begin with. The depuffing feature feels amazing too. I love that you can also turn the cooling off or just use the cooling by itself. I also love that it only takes 6 minutes to use the red light therapy option. Putting this mask on every day after i wash my face has become something I look forward to every day. 100% recommend! It’s a little bit of an investment but it’s definitely worth every penny!

Love it ! Actually see and feel results as soon as 2 weeks. I can see and feel the difference in my skin. It’s not loud makes small fan like noise but it’s soothing. I’ve had it almost a year and no issues.

I’ve learned not to mess around with the super brands, and Shark continues to prove why they’re one of the best on the market. This face mask is incredibly well-designed, sturdy, and surprisingly comfortable to wear. The under-eye cooling feature is amazing and feels so refreshing after a long day. What I love most is that you don’t have to wear it for a long time to see and feel results. The treatment sessions are short, convenient, and easy to fit into a busy schedule. The mask feels high quality, fits well, and doesn’t feel flimsy like some beauty devices. I absolutely love this product and would buy it again without hesitation. It’s well worth the money, and if you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it. Shark knocked it out of the park with this one! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve been using the mask daily for the last 3 months (using the acne program), and I really do like it. I don’t think I started to see results until relatively recently, but lately, I've noticed that the overall quality of my skin is better. Has it helped my acne? Unfortunately, no, I don't think it has, but I do definitely notice an improvement in my skin in general. The mask is very comfortable, and frankly, I’ve come to really enjoy the 8 minute routine as it makes me sit down and relax for a few minutes. I should note that it is entirely possible to walk around with the mask on without any issues—I just choose not to. There are a few things that I don’t love about the mask. First, the battery life is not the best. I can do 3-4 cycles before it needs to be recharged, which takes a few hours. That's not awful, but it would be nice if the battery were able to last a few more rounds before needing to be charged up. Second, and this might be different for other people with differently shaped faces, but the mask really doesn’t hit my jawline at all. I wish it came further down so that it covered the jawline. Lastly, while I do really enjoy the cooling eye pads, I wish they were interchangeable with normal mask lights. I like the eye pads, but my under eyes could really use the red light, and I wish I could do both. I obviously knew this wasn’t going to be possible when I bought it, and I bought it anyway, but I’m hoping Shark makes a second version with some improvements, that being one of them. Overall, if they could make some improvements to the battery life, the length of the mask (to cover the jawline), and to somehow incorporate red light in the under-eye area, it would be my perfect mask. Overall, though, I like the mask, and I do think it’s helping my skin quality overall.

I love it!! But it started blinking about the 5th day I used it. I asked for a replacement because I want to keep using it. It’s hasn’t blinked again but don’t want to risk it. The packaging looked kinda used when I got it and I did order it new so hopefully the replacement will be new and look new
