Protecing my yard and sanity with jets of water.
I've got a neighbor who doesn't care that his cats use my rose garden as their private litter box. I hate to admit that I've had many dark thoughts about how to deal with the cats, until I found this solution to this problem. Somehow I stumbled upon this device and after watching a video on how this works I immediately bought two Water Jet Basters by Hoont. I haven't been this excited in anticipation to get something since I was 5 years old and Santa was scheduled to leave a mini bike under the tree. Two cats used to leave a lot of cat poop in my yard. Really caused me a lot of aggravation. Until I bought these Jet Blasters. My oh my, how they work to keep the cats away. Perfect because they also water the roses too. Setup was easy. Everything I needed was included. After setup it took a few more minutes to fine tune the protected area. It worked so well, I haven't seen either of those darn cats in several weeks, that I only needed to install one. The ONLY thing that I WISH that these devices had is a built in video camera, because even though money is tight, I probably would pay double the (reasonable) price I paid just to be able to see those cats get sprayed with a stream of water just as they were beginning their pooping run. That would make these devices the perfect combination. This was the best purchase I made this year, and maybe in several years! The one I installed has worked flawlessly for a month now. I will update my review in a few months just for fun, especially if I get a camera set up and capture a successful event. I highly recommend these.

Worked great… Once.
Came quickly.. once received I read the rough the directions and got it set up. It only came with on of the “U” clips (controls how far the sprinkler goes around) so it either goes all the way around or barely at all. I have it set up on my deck so I would of liked it to spray 180 degrees or even 100 degrees but without another green “U” clip it won’t work. First night worked great and scared off a raccoon and a cat. The second night the water spray became like a mist with one hard quick spray. The 3rd night it only misted and then a trickle that quietly dripped onto the deck. I read through the reviews before buying and they were mixed but I was still hopeful. I should have believed them and not ordered it. I am pretty sure that if/when I call customer service I am going to have the same problem as everyone else. Big bummer. I hope those of you that are reading the reviews don’t do what I did and waste your money. It would be nice if Amazon would pull items after a certain amount of complaints and bad customer service.

Works pretty well to scare away neighbors outdoor cat, squirrels and raccoons, as good as Scarecrow.
I have two sweet calm and quiet indoor cats with an attached outdoor catio. Recently some outdoor cat moved into the neighborhood and has decide our yard is the intersection to the rest of the area. Usually my cats don't care, but this cat approached the catio and put my cats into a stand off of yowling and hissing. One of my more skittish cats flipped out and the interactions causes her to lash out and be mean to my other cat, which they are usually best of sister friends, quiet, playful and peaceful. This causes my other cat to be on the defensive and it's a big fighting noisy mess until I separate them for a few hours, then it's like nothing ever happened. But now every time my skittish cat sees that cat in the yard, she flips out and gets aggressive all over again. I can't monitor them and break them up all the time. WELCOME the motion SPRINKLER – I had an old scarecrow motion sprinkler many years ago, worked well, don't have it anymore. So I thought I'd try this Hoont out as it had the better reviews compared to other and there really isn't that much selection on Amazon. I will say it does work pretty well. I had to use a wrench to tighten the plastic attachment to where the hose goes to prevent leaking, once tight it stopped leaking, I also used pipe thread tape to help the seal. Had to make sure I used fresh batteries too as my first four didn't test well, no idea how long they'll last. To test without the hose you can hear the release valve click if the batteries are good and you turn up the sensitivity dial past zero. I put the sensitivity at 7, which seems to be good, I've heard it go off a few times and have seen that cat running away, some squirrels too. After I staked it into the ground (didn't use the extension) it didn't go off when I waved my hand in front of it, but it did go off if I shaked the unit with the hose. The sensitivity dial dis seem to make a difference, zero 0 is off, 1 is on, and 3 isn't very sensitive and 7 or higher seemed just about right without false triggering. You can also adjust the spray and arc by changing the top dial. I went in the middle, otherwise you can go with a long stream or short messy splash. It sprays back and forth very quickly for about five seconds and then stops. You can also adjust the rotation range using the two slips around column base under the sprayer. I had to move the metal switch lever to the outside of the tabs (it does fold up so you don't break it), as it ships in the wrong position for adjusting. CONS: - Night sensing is not so great (have motion camera that has shown large rats and cats walk in front of sprinkler with no activation on highest setting). - Hard to use battery cover, tiny screws that strip. - No way to know if battery power is low. PROS: - Works pretty well in daylight hours. - Easy adjust for radius and steam distance, either long stream or shorter splash. - Sensitivity dial, Zero 0 is off, 9 is High sensitivity, no false triggering after a week of use. - Extension hight pole, good option even though I'm not using it where I have it setup. All in all I'm pleased and it does work. Yes, the battery compartment is a pain with four tiny screws, hope I don't strip them or a zip tie might have to do, a snap in place compartment lid would be easier but I get you're trying to keep water out. I may get another one to cover another section of the yard as there's another group of windows my cats spend a lot of time at and can see that stray cat roaming around in the distance. Anything is worth investing in until my cat stops lashing out at her sister in confusion and dismay, hoping she may also grow out of it as it might just be a territorial phase at three years of age.

Works but with a caveat
Got this item very quickly. It works as described, but it has its limit in driving away raccoons because they seem to have the ability to adapt to the sprays. I watched the videos I captured when this Jet Blaster started to spray the water and the raccoons were startled and ran off for a few steps, but very quickly came back. Part of the reason for a limited effectiveness is that it seems to aim too high while as the raccoons are too small. I tried to lower the sprays by adjusting the knob, but it effectively shortened spray distance and became too weak to be effective. It did drive away birds very effectively. The sensor seems to be very good as it detects people walking from 30 yards away. I intend to use it anyhow to guard the lawn from other animals, but for raccoons, I have to think of some other measures.

My garden was played with cats and foxes digging up my lawn and this seems to do the job. it lets out a big jet of water with a really loud noise, which is terrifying! I’ve only got a small garden and it reaches almost to the back. This is the second one I have had as the first one cracked in the winter although it wasn’t this particular brand. This one has survived a pretty cold winter in the UK so I’m giving it five stars

Scaring away cats using our front yard as a toilet.

A great concept let down by poor execution Works...ok,ish though the directional control is limited Poor quality connectors required extra washers and PTFE tape

The unit was easy to assemble, though it took a few attempts to make the connections to the house water supply leak proof. It functions as promised, the detection system is quick and the water spray is 3-4m. After a week in operation there is no sign of the defecating cat. So, maybe job done. In which case it is value for money.

I bought this motion activated water blaster to keep squirrels from digging in my lawn. The jet blasts when a person comes into the area but not a dog or squirrel.
