We moved into current house almost a year ago, but have not hang any of the photos/paintings yet as we don't have a stud finder. Finally ordered one, and the night it arrived, my husband tried it out, and he is very happy with it! He even showed me how stub finder works around the light switches, and on the wall where he knows the stub exists behind the drywall. Now he has no excuse not to hang those pictures/paintings on the wall!

While this tool as incredibly easy to use, it seemed to be more like a psychic reader than an accurate machine. Every reading felt like a guess. The results were not only consistently different at 1/2", 1", 1 1/2" (which I understand can be caused by drywall thickness), but they were also consistently different in general. I would find a stud in a spot on one pass, go back to make sure it was there before I drilled any holes, and the reader would not find it. When I finally did find a spot that seemed conclusive (stud positive both lower and higher on the wall), I drilled my holes and found nothing but drywall. This was a very stressful, disappointing experience.I can tell from other reviews that this experience has not been universal, so take mine with a grain of salt.

After reading and following all directions, this stud finder was hit or miss. Sometimes it would find a stud on the first pass. Other times it wouldn’t. Worst of all, other times it would find the stud when there wasn’t actually a stud there! This can lead to multiple holes in your walls, which isn’t so great. Even getting my money back for this awful product won’t repair the damage done to my walls. I even tried it on a half finished wall in my basement where I could see the stud on the backside of the drywall, and it still misread. It’s going in the trash.

Original Review: (It may have been the one I received...) It was.Kudos to the great customer service of the seller (Eaus)! The original scanner I received did not function at all! They replaced my original unit very promptly, and the new one works perfectly! The unit finds both studs and electrical wires, just as described! Don't attempt any modifications to an existing wall without first knowing what's inside that wall!!

I don’t know how yours were, but my stud finder work really bad! I turn it on, put it on the wall (1/2 inch wood mode), hold the scanning button until it sounds “beep”. I move it and it can’t detect anything. I try again, this time, it shows “center” on every surface I put it on (even when i put it on metal, plastic or my hand, of course it’s still in 1/2 inch wood mode). Try again, finally it seems finding a stud in the wall, but after I restart the stud finder, it can’t find anything at the last place it found the stud.I’m gonna return this. So sorry about that.Update:This product didn’t work really well but I like the professional service. You guys really care about your customers!1 star => 4 stars

Phenomenal stud finder for the price. So much better than my old black and decker plastic piece of junk. Love the display. I tested it on studs by my tv wall mount and was perfect did it 3x in a row. I still always test with a micro drill bit to play it safe. My first digital stud finder.

I bought this stud finder for upgrades my kitchen. And figure out where nail a hook in, it seems work pretty, got the proper location. So far so good and it’s worth the money.

Well, the heavy things I hung after using it are still there, so that's a win.
