Del Ray dinner ware received promptly and without shipping damage. One dish had visible crack beneath the glaze. I did not want to return the set, even though I knew Amazon would gladly replace it. I couldn’t square with the cost of shipping the set 3 times because of a defective, 8 oz. dish, so I reached out to Mikasa customer service, sent pictures and a copy of the receipt, and they got back to me, promptly, advising that a replacement dish was on its way. VERY IMPRESSED! , and Amazon should be, as well, since they were spared the extra shipping and dealing with a returned, heavy item. By the way, we love the understated elegance of Del Ray design. Perfect for every day and easy to dress up for more formal dinners!!

Love this elegant, versatile and lightweight Mikasa dinnerware set. Perfect for daily use and when we have a few guests. The dishes have a subtle shine that makes them look truly classy and pretty.

I ordered those dinner sets, knowing they might get a little banged up, but I still wanted them because I love the product. Sadly, one of the big bowls broke.

This set is absolutely gorgeous. Simple and clean lines give it an elegant look! (Kinda like a little black dress-simple but elegant.) Every piece was intact, no chips, breaks or hairline cracks. It was packed well. I saw some reviews that indicated packing was poor, I didn't think so. Could every piece be double wrapped in bubble wrap, maybe. But they were packed tight with thick wavy cardboard between every piece. If a warehouse worker or delivery person throws a heavy box, no matter the packing something will break (kinda like the brain-it's protected but when slammed can incur injury). I'll see how they hold over time since there is some reviews that indicate discoloration. It does say they are dishwasher safe, however I do not use a dishwasher. I hand wash and hand dry all glass and china. Overall I am super pleased with this 40 pc set! I did get it when it was on sale, making overall experience even better! If you are on the fence like I was for several months I recommend you pulling the trigger and I think you would be pleased.

Bought this set two weeks ago. It’s beautiful. Color and feel is nice. Bowls are the perfect size and shape. Love the set but they do not stand up to the microwave. Pictures show a plate that broke after 1 minute and 20 seconds in the microwave. The plate and the food were all still cold to the touch. I don’t use the microwave much so this was likely the first time this particular dish was in the microwave. I’ve used these dishes in the microwave maybe a total of 3 or 4 times but there are so many, it wasn’t likely the same one. I had another plate making strange noises after only 30 seconds in the microwave. I took it out, unbroken but I have never heard a plate creaking and popping in a microwave to the point the I was so concerned that I had to remove it. I have absolutely no problems with any of my other dishes or glass containers. -EDIT- After another inspection, the plate that was making strange noises does have minor chipping on the face as if tiny pieces the size of a grains of sugar popped off. Also there is a metallic looking stain that has appeared below the surface. For the price, these plates should be reliable in the microwave. Right now I have a giant stack of expensive dishes that I can’t use to heat anything and now I’m concerned about the dishwasher where they actually do get hot. Seller contact and website are apparently down??? So I will try to contact them via phone but I’m not expecting much help.

Mikasa dishes consistently deliver beauty and quality along with a practical durability. This is my third Mikasa set to own (others are holiday dishes) and my first everyday set. The lines and style of this set is simple, clean, and classic which means they can be paired with a lot of other styles (colored and patterned dishes, bright cloth napkins, metallic chargers, etc.) and they blend in. These dishes hold up well to the daily use and wear. The shaping of the dishes is consistent and regular - the glazing is without blemish or flaw. They look fancy and have nice edges, but they aren't delicate either. You don't have to baby or pamper these dishes.

They arrived on time and in perfect condition. I love the shape of the bowls, not those Wide, flat ones that some sets are. The mugs feel light but work just fine. I would recommend these dishes to everyone.
