desertcart.com: Book Skill SHARPENERS Geography GR 1: 9781629384689: Evan-Moor Educational Publishers: Books Review: Great for summer work, summer school, homeschool, or supplementing public school! - This is another awesome geography book from this company! It says 1st grade but could be used as early as Kindergarten or late as 2nd or 3rd, depending on your child and their interest and reading levels. 16 lessons that take maybe 15 minutes each. I think they’re designed for 1 lesson a week. If you didn’t do the K level book, this is a great intro. If you did, this builds on what was previously taught very nicely. Each lesson has: Two pages of reading that can be parent or student done, depending on their reading level and confidence. A visual literacy page. Two pages of vocabulary practice. And then a hands-on activity. The activities are quick and easy to put together and do with the kiddo, but I really recommend letting them do most of it to exercise fine motor scissor skills. Answers are provided in the back. (Sorry for the fuzzy photo but I wanted to show two different full lessons.) If your child’s social studies is all about community helpers and holidays, I highly recommend these geography books to start building those skills. This is a great book for homeschooling or supplementing public school. With 16 quick lessons, it would be perfect for summer school work too! I’ll be buying this again when my youngest is of age, and we’ll continue to use the series as the oldest ages up. Review: Good - My first grade son finds it engaging and fun and he loves Geography. It's good. Colorful and many activities and hands on.

Wonderful Homeschool Tool!
We use this as a guide/supplement for homeschool. We follow it for lesson planning and use the questions as extra practice. There are lots of fun activities in this book!

Pleased
My child enjoys this book. I wouldn't get it to use alone, but it's a good accompaniment to The Evan-Moore Daily Geography Practice which I really enjoy. It is the perfect skill level for my child who is in K/1st so if you're child is advanced these books might be too easy for them.

Homeschool curriculum and flexible to use with additional references
This is a great thing that if you don't want to print off all these sheets that you could definitely add to each page with their own references whether that's searching up videos online reading articles or even finding a book at the library it's definitely a resource book that there's no restrictions to it so it's actually very open and in order to develop curriculum from I found that to be a plus if you wanted to be a standalone book that makes sense and educates kids the fools capability it won't do that but definitely if you use it in a conjunction with APBS show or other references it's definitely something that served as going into death about terminology

Great book for homeschooling or extra practice
Bought this book for my homeschooling first grader. It has been a great addition to our curriculum to learn about the world. Lots of fun learning crafts and simple definitions for 1st grade.

Very easy and simple lessons. I got the Grade 1 Science with this curriculum which is all black and white so I appreciate that this one has colour.
