FIRST ALERT AUTO5 Car Fire Extinguisher, FESA5, UL RATED 5-B:C, Red, 1-Pack

I've had this in my car for several years now, and although I've had no reason to use it yet, I like the convenience of having it there. In particular, I like the plastic mounting bracket, as it positively retains the extinguisher and allows me to mount it on the side wall of the cargo space of my car, out of the way but within easy access of the rear hatch. This is good not just for the sake of roadside use, but also for working in the rear of the car; it's a nice piece of mind to have there if I'm doing work with black powder (or any other flammable material), which I used to do a lot back when I first purchased this extinguisher. That said, the small size that makes it convenient for mounting and handling also means it has a small discharge. Don't buy this expecting it to be able to put out a proper engine fire or other serious automotive fire on its own; its simply not big enough for that. But if you just need something light and space efficient, that can put out a small fire or potentially fight off a larger one long enough to rescue someone, then this is pretty much perfect.

Although I haven’t had to use it (thankfully!), I feel a lot more secure knowing it's there, just in case. Having this extinguisher on hand gives me peace of mind, especially during road trips or when driving through more remote areas. One of the best things about this extinguisher is its compact size. It’s small enough to fit in the trunk of my car or even under the passenger seat without taking up much space. For anyone with a smaller car or limited storage, this is ideal. Despite its size, it feels functional and sturdy, like it’s built to do the job if ever needed. It doesn't feel flimsy or cheap, which is reassuring for something you may rely on in an emergency. The packaging was robust and secure when it arrived, which helped confirm the quality of the product from the start. There was no damage or wear during shipping, and everything felt tightly sealed. The extinguisher itself looks solid, and even after keeping it in my car for some time now, it still feels like new—no signs of wear or corrosion. While I haven’t had to put it to the test (and hopefully never will), the instructions are clear and easy to follow, so if an emergency were to happen, I feel confident that I could use it quickly. Definitely worth having in your car for extra peace of mind!

I bought a total of 5 of these to keep one in each of my vehicles as emergency extinguishers. They’re the perfect size and shape to fit easily in a trunk, center console, truck box, etc. I’ve fortunately never had to use one so I can’t speak for how well they’ll work. My only criticism is that the mounting bracket that this comes with only has holes in it designed for wall mounting. There really should be openings molded into the plastic to allow a mounting strap or molle strap or even rope to be able to secure this to a roll cage or other automobile surface. Especially considering this is marketed as being suitable for use in a vehicle fire. I doubt anyone wants to drill holes into the inside of their car to mount this. Otherwise, as stated it’s a well made unit that’s a compact size and is priced competitively.

I liked this for the following, that it was small and compact to fit in a SUV. Note also that the instructions prefers that it be mounted, but if you put it in a safe place and not become a flying object, it will be ok. The only dislike was that it does not have a dial that shows if it still has pressure. In the instructions on the top of the extinguisher is a green dowel that sticks up and recommends that once a month to press for a second to check for pressure. You might be one of those that never have to use one, but I just like the dial showing pressure.

We keep this in our camper. It’s sturdy and well made. Fits in a small space. Haven’t had to use it yet so hopefully it works as it should! Good price for a necessary safety item.

If you own a camper, and want a 1 shot extinguisher then this is the play. I fired the thing off and the amount of foam/retardent that comes out is truly impressive, it will instantly fill a truck camper to the point of blinding you and saturate everything. All slide in truck camper owners i think should have this bolted to a wall somewhere. We also lit a fire about 2ft in diameter and it extinguished it in less than 2 seconds. Be aware, when you pull the plastic pin to arm it, you REALLY need to yank on that pin, dont be shy to use a lot of strength.

Juste de la bonne grosseur,.. Fixé sous ma selle de moto, la hauteur de l'extincteur fait exactement la largeur de ma selle de moto. Peux pas vraiment le testé parce que a ma connaissance ce genre d'extincteur se met a perdre son air (tranquillement) une fois qu'on l'utilise pour la première fois, car sa valve reste sale à cause de la poudre blanche qui reste coincé dedans. c'est donc à "USAGE UNIQUE"! si j'ai besoin de l'utilisé un jour, je reviendrai pour finalisé mon commentaire. 2023 edit: voila durant été 2023 j'en ai eu besoin et as fonctionné parfaitement,... donc c'est rendu aussi une note pour son utilisation impeccable!,... un 50$ tres bien investis vu qu'il as sauvé un autre véhicule d'une perte total ....j'en commande un autre pour etre prêt pour la prochaine saison de moto!

Luckily we haven't had the need to use this fire extinguisher but we love the compact size and light weight of this product. We got a couple for our Airbnb and it just feels safe to have one around which can be easy places in any space and easily addressed.
