Reliable tool for servicing heads I used this to remove the valves and seals from an EJ253 with no issues. The tool worked great and made the job easy. Removal was super easy for both intake and exhaust. I needed the valve pliers included to remove my seals so that was a nice bonus and since they included lapping cups I might as well use them too. The job went really fast. All the included tools at this price point was an excellent value. They are well made and will last for years. Very happy with this purchase!

Easy to use tool that and works as described and doesn't bend. I was able to quickly remove an intake valve on an old cylinder head with this tool. It's important to make sure that the tool is exactly centered on the spring retainer and the valve face to avoid slippage. I would also caution users to wear safety glasses around high tension springs just in case. I always smack the top of the valve stems with a nylon hammer to free up the keepers before removal.

Good quality for the money...

It is what it is and works like all similar tools. There are much better, but more costly, ways to restore valve seating . But this tool works as well as can be expected.

I used this compressor kit to redo valve seals on my VW VR6 12V engine. Every aspect of that job went smoothly because of the included bits in this kit. The large compressor arm and 2 adjustable posts made reaching around the extremely thick cylinder head easy. The valve seal pliers gripped nicely on the old seals, and with a gentle twisting motion, I was able to quickly remove all of the old ones. A small seal press bit is included in the kit, and I used a brass deadblow hammer to gently tap the new seals in place. Then I was able to reinstall the valve springs and retainers easily, since the tool has a large opening on the compression bit, giving me plenty of room to set the retainers. Overall, the entire kit worked as advertised. I did notice that the clamp arm did flex a bit when I was really clamping down on the springs to release the retainers, but I had to put a lot of pressure on it to crack the retainers loose, which is common. But it didn't stay bent, and straightened out as soon as the pressure was released. I kept a little machining oil on the threads to make them easier to spin in and out, as well as increase the lifespan of the tool overall. Based on a lot of Googling, I would be very hard pressed to find a better tool at this price point. I'm extremely happy with it, and look forward to doing some future projects because of it.
