Quality.
Alright here's what you need to know. I collect these multi tools for fun, and perhaps a little pride. The Gerber truss is probably one of the best for the money that I've seen in a long time, that is if you can get a good one, it's a roll of the dice and it's across the board for all models and makes. The first one right out of the box, was perfect in every way and a delight, so I bought another one and it was a joke, the pliers misaligned, one handle sloppy the other one too firm and a number of tools collided, the Phillips screwdriver doesn't fit the screws, the file not very sharp and the locking mechanism didn't work very well on on one side, it's too loose. About the only thing worth having was the Awl. Obviously it's a return. So what are you getting with the Gerber Truss, if you get lucky and get a good one. It's for medium-duty don't push it too hard or it'll probably get bent out of shape. What I can tell you is the tool combination is one of the best, and you couldn't get me to part with my first one for anything. In conclusion my advice would be if you want it to last, it should be for display purposes only. That way it'll last you a long time, but you may have to dust it off occasionally. Like I say I collect these things, and they are for display only. Sorry if I burst your bubble. I'm not saying not to buy it, it's worth the risk. But if you get a good one, don't try it again. Update; I've had my Gerber trust for a while now, and it's needed a few adjustments as it gets broke in a little bit. So it might be worth your time to buy a good number 9 star bit. It really is for display purposes. The metal frame is made of a very hard lightly brittle spring metal plus it's quite thin, so if it gets sprung will affect every tool in the unit. Just flexing the tool will cause collisions with a number of tools. There is only one narrow bridge that connects the two pieces as one in the handle, and at the other end is a plastic cap. You probably want it loose because if you tighten it, it affects the tension on the tools and can cause collisions. Therefore it's a balancing act between the bearings and the plastic caps. Conclusion, I was very careful with mine, as I'm a mechanic. It's great to show Friends and use as a conversation piece. In that way the Gerber truss has a lot going for it. But I can assure you, if you TRY to use it AS A TOOL, EVEN ONCE IT WILL GET BENT OUT OF SHAPE, and you probably won't like what you see. So enjoy it as a novelty piece.

Very Good Quality at Great Price
I've had the same Gerber multitool in my outdoor bag for over a decade and it's always worked flawlessly. I decided to buy this one to keep in the car and was so impressed I bought a second one of these a couple of weeks later. The quality, fit and finish are very good. This is a very solid multitool built to last. Frankly, at this price it's impressive. I've also had good experiences with Gerber's lifetime warranty. I sent my old multitool in because the blade started showing rust spots and wear after nearly a decade. They cleaned it up, sharpened it, and sent it back at no cost, no questions asked. 9 out of 10 companies would've said it was wear and tear and denied warranty work.

Congratulations, it's a baby Gerber!!
Congratulations, it's a baby Gerber!! Fully grown right out of the box. It has a nice case with fits well in either horizontal or vertical tactical positions. It is sturdy and lives up to its legacy brand as well crafted, engineered and designed. This is currently replacing my 30 year old Leatherman. The blades are sharp and easily resharpened with little effort.

Decent backup optionโฆ
What I like: -Nice array of useable tools. -Nice looking -Spring mechanism for pliers is solid. -Impressive price point. Decent value for around $50 What I dislike: -Locking mechanism is not my favorite, though it works. Digs into my fingers, and isnโt what Iโd call smooth. -Chinese made. I wish it were manufactured literally anywhere else. I realize it keeps costs down butโฆ -Chunky and heavy. Not sleek. -Heavy use can misalign and hamper use of other tools. Therefore I would relegate this tool to light, perhaps medium use. Think fishing tacklebox, kitchen utility drawer, or glove compartment of your car. -The handles have a tendency to misalign. I bent mine back to even. Still that is a concern. -From other reviews here, there seems to be inconsistency in quality control from tool to tool. Mine was luckily fine out of the box, and tools/knives reasonably sharp. Lucky me. -The sheath it comes with is just about useless and cheap. I mean, why bother, Lol. Small knitpick there as aftermarket Kydex options are available that seem nice. That would be a must-purchase if one decides to target this as a primary multi-tool or EDC. Verdict: Gerber is a solid brand. I like their camping/tactical knives and own several, and am very satisfied with their design. But this multi-tool is merely okay. On a budget, Gerber makes passable multi tools that will probably do the job. Leathermanโ multi-tools (I own the Wave and Skeletool) are just superior in build quality. Spend the extra $50 on their stuff if you are targeting a Multitool as an EDC, if you are a construction professional, or want one for your camp/survival bag. It will be money well spent to get something made exactly right, and sturdy as all getout, and will do the job in spades.

Exceeded expectations-case and tool built to last
This exceeded my expectations. Itโs hardy, strong, nothing flimsy or cheap. For the price this honestly was a great buy. The added case, is equally great quality. Clips easily to the belt, and perfect for a days work out in the field. End to end, good quality for a multi-tool!

Spring-assist flaw
The spring-assist for the scissors shifts out of place when in use. So it's quite a hassle to manually open it after each cut.
