Fresh, Tender & Healthy Choice
I started using La Choy Sliced Bamboo Shoots after hearing from a chef and a relative who said bamboo shoots helped support healthy growth and taller height in her kids. I’m using them mainly for better health, and I love the quality. They’re fresh, tender, low-calorie, and easy to add to meals. A great, healthy pantry staple!

Flavor is expected, quality varies
If you’ve never tried canned bamboo shoots before, you may want to pass, since the flavor is acquired taste and the smell is exactly what some reviewers have described. That said, this is pretty much expected for canned bamboo shoots. I gave it 3 stars mainly because the quality control needs improvement. In the same can, some pieces were tender and crisp, while others were old, stringy, and unpleasant. Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell the good pieces from the bad until you eat them. Decent overall, but inconsistent enough to be disappointing.
