![Jane Fonda's New Workout [DVD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41Of1LQ+-VL.jpg)

The ORIGINAL Workouts that revolutionised fitness! This incredibly popular workout collection from Jane Fonda has been re-mastered from VHS and is now out on DVD for the first time, available in five separate volumes. This two part DVD contains a 35-minute Beginners programme and a 55-minute Advanced programme. Both will give you a total body workout. Some of you will start with the beginner programme and move on; others will start with advanced. Either way you will be taking a great step in improving your cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility. Review: Great workout from the 80s with the benefits of the DVD - What a great workout, I enjoyed it now as much as I did when I was in my teenage years, borrowing the video from my mum. It has such an 80's feel all the way through, and bringing it to DVD means it has the advantages that DVDs bring, such as putting it all into chapters so you don't have to fast forward to the advanced bit. Plus there's a bit where they show you all that you did, broken down in a list which I found interesting. For those who have never watched the video: The DVD starts with a little bit from Jane Fonda today, saying how pleased she is that everyone still loves this workout today. The workout is split into beginners for 35 mins, and advanced for 55 mins. 35 minutes can be quite handy, the usual workouts can be too tiring or daunting for the length that they are. The advanced is just a few more moves squeezed in. Both workouts are aerobics, with floor exercises afterwards. The most memorable thing about this workout is that another lady sings a song during the aerobics ("there's so much, more, to you than meets the eye!". It's fun to sing along. There's about 10 people exercising in the background, all wearing a variety of costumes, almost like a variety of characters. Another thing I like about the workout, is that they clearly keep going. Other DVD's have a change of costume between chapters, so it's obvious they've had a break, where we have to keep going! These women are clearly sweaty at the end. Once I did the workout, I realised that this is the workout that got me into aerobics in the first place. One little negative point though, its a little grainy. Thought they might be able to have cleaned it up? Its like watching the video all over again. Review: I love Jane Fonda! - I am SO pleased with this! I used to use my mum's old video at points in my life when I was the slimmest & fittest I've ever been. Since I moved into a new house with my husband some years back I had missed this workout, because it's fun, quick and effective. It helps to make you lean rather than chunky, which is a big plus for me. I had tried to get a DVD version of this workout a few years back, but couldn't find a copy anywhere. It crossed my mind again this January because of all the typical New Year's resolutions and I thought I would have a look again on the off chance. I was so excited when I found a DVD version was FINALLY available and that there are other people who enjoy this retro workout as much as me! If you want a good, short cardio workout and you want lean muscle, I highly recommend this. I also quite like the whole old 80s look: it reminds me of being a kid and the cheeseyness makes me smile whilst I get fit. The DVD arrived in good time, was a good price and is good quality in my opinion. Money well spent I say. If you decide to buy this DVD, listen out for some of my favourite lines like "hot cross buns!" ' I actually love Jane Fonda! She is such a positive influence and a good strong role model for women. Enjoy!

For me, this one is the original and the best.
This was my first ever workout video, back in the '80's and I think it's the best, for so many reasons. First of all, and most importantly, it's really effective: I've just completed the Beginner's workout for the first time since 1990 (the year that my video copy died!) and I've had a really good workout, with loads of scope still to improve. The instructions for the moves are really clear so it's easy to perform them correctly. Crucially, this workout is fun without being gimmicky - yes, you're asked to sing along with Leslie Lillien, which is a laugh, but the song's lyrics are also really motivational and if you can sing along, you know you're breathing correctly. Yes, I did sing along with Leslie Lillien! I used to perform this workout several times a week back in the eighties. It never got boring and it always got results. I was so pleased that it's been re-released - I've tried so many exercise videos and I can attest that it really is a classic. Treat yourself to it - I'm so glad that I did... and now, I'm going to treat myself to a leotard!

I love this dvd and so glad it is in dvd ...
I love this dvd and so glad it is in dvd as wore out my vHs when I was still in my 20s. This is the one that works. It is enjoyable, full of enthusiasm easy to follow and burns the fat and calories.I survived 3 post pregnancies with this dvd. To many it might be old fashioned but it definitely works and I still love it now in my 50s. I have had countless gym memberships and personal trainers through the years but believe me, this is the best most effective workout. I know interval training is the new thing but this has it built in without knowing. they didn't know about that in the 80s but did it anyway Just so enjoyable takes me back to my old village hall aerobics class in the 80s love it and will do it as long as Im able,

Highly Recommended For All Who Love Aerobics
Once you have mastered Jane Fonda's Original Workout, you are ready for this New Workout. This is a full body workout programme from head to toe, start with beginners section first. Then once achieved, you can progress to the advanced section. I rediscovered these workouts again after 25 years, now they are on DVD and they have brought back the enjoyment to exercise again. I highly recommend them, Jane Fonda is the original Queen of Aerobics.

I bought this DVD based on the good reviews which I guess are more favourable due to nostalgia. Although the workouts are challenging and effective, they are quite long & repetitive compared to more modern alternatives. There are far more efficient workouts that will produce similar results available. That said, the cheesy 80s music, outfits and routines are very entertaining! It would be nice if the music varied a little more during the sessions!

The original vhs of this workout came out in the mid 80s and my mom had it to lose weight after having me. Recently I started working out for the first time in a very long time on a schedule and I thought this would be great for when I'm short on time since the entire workout is about 34 minutes. My exercise has primarily been chasing my kids around for years and walking the neighborhood. I got this dvd to try something new and indoors. My entire household has been doing this workout and enjoys it - we range in age from 40 to 6 years old. The fashions are kind of funny to look at, but you feel like you're going to an actual class with this. I do the workout during the day and it's easy to etch out just 34 minutes to do it a few times a week. Jane was about 45 here and she looks amazing! She's very energetic when she leads the warm up, part of the workout, and the cool down and floor work. She also reminds you often to breath and how to properly do the movements. Part of the workout and the catchy theme song are by Leslie Lillien who is also very energetic. We legit sing the theme song around the house randomly. The music in the background keeps you motivated too. The cardio portion gets my heart pumping without overdoing it - because it's a lot of quick movements and aerobics, the time doing the workout passes quickly. You hit it hard and then do the cool down and floor exercises and before you know it you had fun and are done. It really is a full body workout including cardio, arms during cardio movements, and abs, rear, and legs on the floor exercises. There's a lot of stretching too and I've noticed increased flexibility with my stretching since I started and I'm also less winded. One word of caution though - some of the movements are a little jerky to the body and they did some of them super fast, which they probably didn't realize could be harmful and cause a strain. There's a lot of jumping movements and once I came down weird on my ankle trying to keep up and my ankle hurt for a 2 weeks as well as my knee. After that I was much more conscious of how my feet were landing and did the moves at my own pace or modified 1 or 2 slightly. Overall, this is an awesome and high energy workout that leaves you feeling good. No wonder this was so popular back in the day! There is a beginner level and an advanced; the advanced has much of the same movements, but quicker pace. I prefer the beginners even though I've been doing this for about 2 months. This is now my go to exercise program.

You should know that the quality of the film can be a little fuzzy (unless my eyes are failing me LOL). They obviously are not copying from the original or it doesn't transfer to digital or something, BUT the content is excellent and Jane is so encouraging and makes me want to just get busy and do it! I recommend them. They are terrific value for the price.
