Holy Stone HS175G GPS Drone with 4K EIS Camera for Adults Beginner, 249g

Great starter drone (my first) two batteries good idea running for about 15-20 minutes each, connected up to phone first time, flys really well. Cant fault really. I've only used a few times but built well enough and camera better than I thought it would be. Return to home worked glad I got GPS model. Don't use in strong winds. Been up 80m and 250m away so far then signal started to go. Worried about spending £100s then crashing or losing it. Good fun. Research your needs and watched YouTube videos. More than Happy with it for £120.

Great spec for the money. Easy to fly. Very stable in the hover. Pictures and video good. An excellent first drone. I am hooked.

A really good value kit. Two batteries is very useful. Range is max 300m though, not 3km as stated. Also the app freezes at long range but this could be my phone.

This is my first drone and I didn't know what to expect but I was impressed with the kit, the instructions and how well the drone responds to the remote control. It's very stable in the air and I've been able to land it precisely. Still picture quality is good close up but there is rounding on longer shots. I bought it to survey my roof and this is perfectly possible. I've had a few crashes (I'm a beginner) but so far it seems quite robust. Battery life seems good (there are 2 batteries) and it's easy to transfer pictures to my phone using the app.

Broken out the box, controller had a missing thread so the joystick could not be attached ( poor quality control) second issue is tve GPS would not connect and when it did would disconnect straight away. Please do not buy there seems to be many issues with this drone. This has been returned and ill spend money elsewhere.

i,m 60 years old and this is my first ever drone and wow what a choice - its user friendly and so easy to use , the camera on it takes amazing photos and videos , no vibration in the videos , i,m well impressed , had to contact customer services on a few occasions and wow , this company appreciates their customers , the after care is amazing always glad to help and go above and beyond - if only every company was like this the world would be a happier place - battery life is amazing #holystone

Great bit of kit

This was my first drone, unfortunately I had to send it back. It arrived next day well packaged and looking really good. I unboxed everything and watched the very helpful video before charging the batteries and reading the instructions. (that are very clear and easy to understand) I only flew the drone once for a few minutes, again really easy and did everything it says. The problem is with the LCD display on the transmitter. When indoors its very easy to see. But when I took it outside in daylight it was very difficult to see the symbols and info on the display. I contacted Holy Stone by email who were excellent and responded the same day. Wanted to see if there maybe a dimming function? Turns out there wasn't and the LCD screen was not backlit - hence the difficulty seeing it outside. Apart from the screen issue everything else was great. Sadly not being able to see the screen when outside is an issue for me which is why I returned it.

Die HS175G hat mich absolut überzeugt! Für Einsteiger ist sie ideal – einfach zu bedienen, stabil in der Luft und mit einer überraschend guten Kamera für den Hobbybereich. Nach etwa zwei Flugstunden kann ich sagen: Ich bin mehr als zufrieden. Die Kameraqualität reicht für alle Freizeitbedürfnisse vollkommen aus, besonders wenn man die Aufnahmen auf einem größeren Bildschirm betrachtet. Für den Preis bekommt man hier wirklich viel geboten – ich würde glatt 11 von 10 Punkten geben! Ich habe die Drohne bei Windstärke 4 getestet, und sie hat sich tadellos gehalten – keine Probleme mit der Steuerung. Auch die verschiedenen Flugmodi funktionieren zuverlässig. Nur mit dem Headless-Modus komme ich persönlich nicht so gut klar – ist wahrscheinlich Geschmackssache. Mein Neffe dagegen findet genau diesen Modus ideal, gerade für Anfänger, die sich nicht an die Flugrichtung gewöhnen wollen. Ein kleiner Tipp zur Speicherkarte: Ich empfehle eine 128 GB microSD-Karte mit A2-Standard. Damit nutzt man den Speicher optimal aus und profitiert von einer schnellen Übertragung auf PC oder Notebook. Fazit: Wer eine zuverlässige, einfach zu fliegende Drohne mit guter Ausstattung zum fairen Preis sucht, macht mit der HS175G nichts falsch. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

I have only been flying a couple of months and wanted to step up from the hs 120 which is an excellent entry point ; not too expensive not to cheap. I wanted something more though as I was looking for better video quality and more stability when flying . As a beginner this was the perfect next step. The unit is solid and well made. The package came with a very nice case , two batteries, extra blades and nice owners manual. Easier to setup then the 120 as once you turn the drone on the wifi is picked up easily. Calibration was a snap with excellent lighting on the drone. I tested the return to home, follow me and circle me options and they all worked great. The video and photo quality of the 4k camera is very nice. As a beginner I am still working on not having jerky movements when adjusting the camera angles. Overall very happy with this drone. Would have been nice if you could fold the props because otherwise to put back in the case you have to remove them each time. Also even though the books are excellent it would be nice to have a quick start guide for us newbies. Step one turn on the drone , step 2 turn on the remote and what lights to look for at each step etc. . But that's just because I am new at this . I guess people that have been flying a while don't need that. One small thing Holy Stone should go ahead and include the batteries for the remote and a small sd card so its ready to use when you get it. Also, the drone batteries do take several hours to charge and you simply use the included usb cords. Be sure to check the amperage of your charger per the owners manual recommendations so as not to overcharge. Holy Stone customer service has a great reputation and is always there to help. Again very happy with the purchase and considering all you get in the package ; I feel its an overall very good value. Looking forward to much more flying. Oh by the way be sure and register as this is over the minimum weight. It's quick and easy and only $5 bucks for hobbyists. You only have to register once for all your drones. I think you will be very happy with this drone.

Was für ein Hammer! Als Weihnachtsgeschenk für meinen 13-jährigen Sohn gedacht funktionierte die Drohne auch für uns Anfänger perfekt. Sie steht wie eine Eins in der Luft, wenn man sie vor Beginn jedes Fluges vernünftig kalibrieren. Das dauert nicht mal 60 Sekunden. Sie spricht super auf die Steuerung an die Übertragung zum Handy ist perfekt auch auf längere Strecken. Super auch der Anfänger-Modus, bei dem man nicht weiter als 20 m in die Luft und 200 Meter entfernt fliegen kann. Da lernt man wie es geht. Die Drohne reduziert selbstständig die Entfernung, wenn die Akkuleistung herunter geht. Meine Sorge, dass die dann irgendwann ohne Akkuleistung vom Himmel fällt war unbegründet, weil sie zuvor von alleine zum Startpunkt zurückkehrt. Überhaupt ist die Akkuleistung völlig okay. Selbst bei tiefen Minusgraden sind wir locker 20-25 Minuten geflogen und der Akku hatte noch ein bis zwei Balken von fünf. Super Filme haben wir gemacht, super Fotos haben wir gemacht. Und jetzt sparen wir auf eine VR Brille, das wird der nächste Hype. Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!

This drone is so fun I feel compelled to write a review! I will use as much detail as possible as to why I enjoy it so much! First is the case. It is durable and keeps the drone well protected. As a hiker I like to take it on outings often so a solid case is a plus. Next I like that it has 2 batteries. These batteries last longer than any I have had yet, with my longest flight over 25 minutes and still wasn't returning home! 2 charge cables that are C port are included. There is a extra set of propellers included as well. The real neat part about them is they require no tools to change. Simply push down and turn each propeller as the arrow states for on/off. They are spring loaded and work very well! The remote works as most do, and controls are reversible. The phone holder works well as does the app, although not required. If you want photos and videos you will need to download the free app OR install a SD card in the drone. I prefer the app so I can see exactly what my photos will look like and where the camera is pointing. The camera is 4k and impressive for this price range drone. It has a 90 degree tilt controlled by a small wheel on top of the remote. Video quality is amazing and it is very easy to take still shots while using video in the app. This drone has a home feature that works flawless. When the battery gets too low it returns "home" and will land where it last took off from. It gets a great GPS signal even in dense areas I did not expect it to. At any time you can push the home button and the drone will automatically return to the take off point. There is a "follow me" feature as well that is interesting. By turning this on in the app the drone will follow the remote. Definitely cool if you want to see yourself running or driving slow! I have not yet used the point of interest function, but I'm sure it will work as great as everything else has! The drone is incredibly easy to fly and more stable than any of my other drones. I would recommend it for any skill level! It also did much better than expected when the winds were a bit more than I anticipated. The camera stayed steady and it didn't seem to struggle at all. Be sure you are in fast mode though, as well as turn off beginner mode in the app if you use that! The extra power makes it much easier to control in my opinion. I’ve been flying drones for over 5 years, and different brands as well. I absolutely love Holy Stone Drones, I own 5, now 6 with this one. I can say, the HS175G model, is a great entry level model and a great price as well. Took on several test flights to gauge the overall handling and also the pictures and videos quality. The drone itself handles exceptionally well. Fast too, and lots of fun. It is light weight, but handles well in moderate wind. All controls and features worked great as should. Very stable hover and position hold. Only downside, the camera gimbal is a bit shaky when panning, otherwise you have a great 4K transmission and very clear, but doesn’t pan smoothly as it does on higher end HS models like the HS600D and HS900 which have 3 axis gimbals. So I wouldn’t be buying this camera drone and think you’re going to be catching high quality videos and making side money, but absolutely great to learn, and get proficient without breaking the bank.
