A beautiful and fun way to plug kids into the world and make global citizens.
I hung this map with command strips in the hallway outside my granddaughter's bedroom because I want her to know that the world is a much bigger place than our little Florida town. It's beautifully published in a trendy and feminine rose gold. I'm a paper and book person and I haven't seen paper of this quality for a long time. It feels decadent to touch it. The image is stunning too - better in person than the listing. There's a piece of tissue paper that it came rolled around that I have kept to lay on the carpet when we get to scratching. We haven't decided yet if we are going to scratch all the places she wants to go, all the places she has read about or all the places she has been. (I'm pushing for the one involving books.) We have scratched out our little corner of the world so far and it's very exciting stuff for a five year old. Once it's done, it's done, so I try to stretch it out and hopefully make a bigger impression. When I first unrolled this map I thought it had moisture damage because there are light black smudged marks at the top and bottom that look like water stains. Upon closer inspection of the listing, I see that these marks are an intentional part of the image and not blemishes at all. They are part of the background.

Box cane damaged
Packaging came all torn up and damaged and also doesn’t include an item to scratch the map with.

Great gift, beautiful design and paper
Luckies of London | Scratch Map Rose Gold Edition | World Map Scratch Art | Scratch Off Map | World Map Wall Art | The Original Scratch Map Creators | Standard LUKRGS Got this as a retirement gift for my mom, who worked for the airlines for 30-odd years and has traveled the world. She loved it. She scratched off all the places she's visited and is planning her future trips. It's a very pleasing design, and the paper, design, and print of the Luckies version are so much nicer than the other variations of this type of scratch off I'm gotten before. I recommend the type of open top/bottom magnetic frame for this. It comes packed in a very nice gift box. It's a great memory-inducing gift for a seasoned traveler, or an aspirational gift for a would-be traveler.

Very cool idea and great gift.
We got this for our niece, who is doing a lot of world travelling right now. She loved this map and the color. It has been hung in her bedroom for a few months now. It is easy to scratch off but one must be gentle or you'll damage the map. This isn't something for young kids, this is a gift for adults. The paper is high quality, the map is fairly heavy and we needed more substantial hanging than pushpins into the wall. The graphics and colors under the scratch off layers are great and I enjoy seeing the colorful map under the pinkish color. Makes quite a statement and a wonderful gift.

Scratch-off surface deteriorates
While this was a wonderful map at first it turns out that after about two years I wasn't able to scratch off any more countries (tried several across the world). Seems like the scratch-off surface deteriorates after a while. Either that or I have been visiting countries that are not scratchable :-( PS: Bought the map at Urban Outfitters in the USA

Nice concept - Bad scratch off areas
I loved the idea of this, but once I received it and started to try scratching off the states and countries - some of the countries wouldn’t scratch off and it ended up ruining the map. There was no tool to help you scratch everything off - a coin wasn’t helpful because some countries are too small so I had to use a toothpick. It was too tedious to end up having a ruined map.

Fine but ended up looking messy
That was a pretty color, but the pink was hard to scratch off and it looked a bit messy

Colour is pretty but you can’t scratch anything off and the outlines are so faint you can hardly see them. I am going to return and buy from elsewhere 🙁

Smaller then I thought but well loved!

I love my scratchmap, had it for a month now. Wanted to buy it in London but didnt get the chance to go to the shop so ended up ordering online. The paper feels very durable, not your average scratchmap material (I have others too). The colors are beautiful and I love the rosegold features. Some rosegold remains around the contintents, which is nice, because you will see the rosegold even after scratching off the whole world. It is a little difficult to scratch. They recommended an eraser, I tried both a soft and a hard eraser but its inconvenient and inefficient. With a coin also doesnt really work, and if you scratch for too long it damages an upper layer of the map and you can see the white paper under (sad, my filipino islands are now floating on white pieces of paper :(( ). I ended up using a bobby pin which works very well for me but its time consuming, especially for Russia for ex XD. After I scratch off the main layer, I would use a soft eraser, which brightens the color of the country. All in all its a beautiful scratchmap and I happily sacrifize the scratching time to have beautiful results. However they could have inculded a scratch tool and insturction for such a high pricepoint map.
