DREO 8L Smart Humidifier Large Room, 80H Runtime, Warm & Cool Mist, HM717S

I live with this humidifier right by my favorite chair. It sits on a top shelf above my houseplants year round. I have recommended it to multiple friends who are plant lovers, guitar collectors, and allergy sufferers. It’s simply the best! I’ve tried multiple brands (Crane, Pure Enrichment, Homedics, Vicks, Honeywell, Levoit, and more!) because my bedroom humidifiers get changed out every couple years. Stay away from ultrasonic because they can leave a powder residue. I’m die hard dreo now! It’s consistent, easy to use, reliable, and beautiful! I love that I can utilize hot or cold humidity. I have mine set at 55% for plants and comfort. The large tank makes it easy to keep full and low maintenance to leave running full time. The night light is soft and classy. I leave it running all the time and it’s never let me down! It’s the most durable humidifier I’ve ever found. I bought two more smaller ones for my bedrooms. I have taken it down to clean once and I found no growth on the components. I’m not sure if they advertise antibacterial or not but they seem to have that quality. I’ve tried the rest. I seriously get new humidifiers annually. I’ll never buy anything else again!

We can ours Hydrating Harry and it's literally the perfect humidifier for the cold winter months when the air dries out. Its quiet, lasts a long time in a full tank, and is easy to clean. With the app it is super easy to use and schedule start and end times. The lights can be turned on and off. We've noticed the static in our home go from touching basically anything to nearly zero. It is extremely effective.

While I have used this humidifier for only 10 days so far, I am extremely pleased with its performance. It has increased humidity in our dry house quite a bit. Its output is impressive and I fill it once a day. Since distilled water can get expensive when using almost 2 gallons a day I opted to set up the Zero Water purifying system and use that instead. The refrigerator filter tests almost worse than our faucet water, so it is important for me to use clean water that doesn't deposit this ugly white dust all over the house nor destroy the machine prematurely with calcium deposits. And it is a lot cheaper than buying distilled water, plus I no longer have to lug the gallon jugs around and add more plastic in the questionable recycling practices. While this humidifier has a timer, I opted to run it continuously and on the medium warm mist output. I love it. Refilling is easy since the top comes off and I can pour the water in without having to remove the tank (which is of course an option and necessary for maintenance). But for me it is easier to fill it with the tank on the machine since it can get heavy to lift a full tank back onto the machine. I have not noticed any leaks, but I also made sure that the humidifier sits level. I do not use scented oil, I have a diffuser for that. The instructions that came with it are very clear on setup and maintenance, and Dreo is a brand that I have had nothing but good experience with (space heaters and milk frother). If you need a humidifier that you can trust and don't have to refill every few hours and need expensive filters for, this is the one to get.

Love this mist humidifier. Have had it almost a month now and has performed perfectly. We primarily use it in the cool mist mode but the warm mist works great as well with several temperature settings. Keeps our sunroom humidity perfect ,with the set and go percentage, for us and plants during our low humidity season. Easy to use and clean. So quiet you don’t know it’s running except for the mist coming out from the top. Had a concern it might make the floor wet around the humidifier but the mist is so fine it dissipates easily into the air and the floor has not had any moisture. Couldn’t be more satisfied with this purchase. We are planning to replace our other wick type humidifier with this one asap.

I would rate it five stars if it lived up to the claimed output of 550ml an hour. I ran it non stop until it ran out of water, it ran for 30 hours. 8000 ÷30 = 266ml. I live in a small apartment 700 sf, with bathroom and bedroom door closed at 20 degrees outside the highest the humidity it got up to is 41%. The temp has dropped to 15 outside and now it's saying 32%. I have gas heating which sucks the moisture out of the air. Operation wise I'd rate it a 5. Pros.. It's extremely quiet, connects with wifi easily, holds a decent amount of water, no white dust (city water), like that you can change the light colors or turn off, easy to top fill, direct able mist, carrying handle. Cons.. water bucket too tall for my sink, have to use tub to fill. You can't fill all the way up with out spilling it. Would recommend a garden water pitcher to refill. Leaves a film of condensate on the sides of unit which may drip down onto whatever it's sitting on. Would I recommend, yes with the knowledge that it doesn't product the stated output. It's features and quiet operations are a winner to me. I did the test on cool mist, with 80 hours of use. Have tried the warm mist but only for a short period. It is a little louder on warm mist but not much and no real gurgling sound like others have stated. I replaced a new honeywell evaporative one the leaked all over my carpet after 2 days. The honeywell put out more humidity but was way louder 2x 3x as loud. Edit This unit will leak . It seems to happen when it runs out of water, when it dries the float sticks. When you add the watter the dried float remains stuck and allow the whole tank to drain out. The solution is to clean regularly. To me when it did stick it didn't look dirty. For me a better solution was to place unit in a catch tub with a water alarm. It has leaked four times now in less than 3 months. I still like the unit, I think its just a hazard of any humidifier that has the tank above the electronics. If I lived in a place where leaking water would damage something, avoid a humidifier that has a upper tank, of put in a tray to catch leaking water.

It took a few days to raise the humidity in an extremely dry room, but once comfortable levels were reached, this machine kept them in the range by adjusting power levels or pausing completely. I love how I can control and monitor it with the app. This humidifier has settings to completely dial-in your humidity preference, either with cool or warm mist. I get a phone notification when it is time to refill it. I always use distilled water or water from my Culligan pitcher with Zero Water filter. I have not experienced any white dust, but suspect you will get some if using regular unfiltered tap water. It is quiet and puts out a plume of mist 4 to 5 feet high. It is easily cleaned, though I haven't had to since I only use filtered or distilled water.

5/5 Rating Easily the BEST humidifier on the market. First off I love Dreo products as they easy to intgrate and use via your app / tablets. As for this humidifier, this thing is a BEAST. it hold 8 liters which is about 2.1 Gallons of water. The display is beautiful and draws attention in your home. You have multiple settings, you can choose warm or cool mist. You can also choose 1-3 as far as the steam level. Level 3 shoots the steam easily 5-6 feet into the air to help cover the room. Once you turn this thing on, you will notice almost an immediate difference. It's fairly cool now as Winter months are just starting, this along with 70 degree home temperature makes my home very compfortable. The amount of steam and moisture it puts into the air makes the room more comfortable and helps eliminate the dryness in my skin. I can't believe I did not buy this sooner. Pros Super easy to use Large Water Reservoir Can be controlled via the Dreo app Tons of functionality in the app Cons It really doesn't last 80 Hrs or so, if you use the highest setting you'll be lucky to get a day out of it. I've had mine on almost non stop since getting it.

However, the design does have one flaw, when removing the tank for refilling, some leaking occurs, which can be inconvenient and messy. Despite this, the overall performance, smart features and quiet efficiency make it a strong option for large‑room humidification, earning it a solid four stars.

I had tried another brand (cheaper) unit first which had good reviews and it was garbage, cheap plastic, poor fitment (if you ever so slightly brushed by it walking by... the resevoir would come and dump water everywhere)... then the low water alarm went off yet it was full of water... needless to say, returned it within 24 hrs. Saw the great reviews for the DREO and figured i'd try it... love it. Ran it all winter, with the 8L capacity i only had to top it up every 2-3 days. Love the directable vertical mister and the large LED display that i can see across the room. Solid quality and has not disappointed me in 7 months of use.

This humidifier was purchased because my previous Dreo humidifiers' water container cracked for no apparent reason and leaked water all over my hardwood floor. Dreo Humidifier - Model: 311S Be mindful on this product's reliability. As for this Dreo 8L humidifier, the size is great. A big screen on the front that show the info I need to know what's going. Detected & connected to my wi-fi network reaIly fast. The app is simple and easy to navigate and understand. I haven't had it for 24hrs yet. An updated review to come later. Now, the issues I have: I thought I purchased a new humidifier as for what I chose, but it seems like this one was already used. There are water marks in the bottom of the water container. (Reference pictures) If this was a brand new Dreo product, the cleaning reminder on the app wouldn't have shown 308 hrs working with or without a cleaning. The reminder is every 100 hrs to do a cleaning of the device. Now, it may have been cleaned and the counter in the app was not reset; but nonetheless, if it was brand new, it should have 0 hrs mentioned on the app before I even plugged the device. Other issue: Box was damaged upon delivery. I hope this 2nd Dreo humidifier purchase is my last one. 🙏🏾 Update: March 17, 2026 So far, this humidifier runs pretty well. The app is very responsive and intuitive. Wi-fi signal reception is strong. The plume comes out with quite a lot of force. Adding essential oils enhances the smell in a room. The warm mist option works well. I'm just waiting for the filter to be delivered to see how well it works. I wish it was a bit cheaper. 😉 I'm happy with this purchase.
