do i need a battery pack for this, or will it work plugging it into my DC outlet on my travel trailer?

It will work off the RV's battery provided it has enough charge. Turn off the humidifier function on your device to help extend the run time.

Would this adapter work with a jumper box with a cigarette lighter adapter? If so how long would it run before i would have to recharge it.

Until the battery runs down to 9.5VDC.
