Since we had a previous older model, it was an easy setup. It got right to work. We couldn’t connect and use the original automated cup roller I think it was incompatible? Same brand but just wouldn’t work. So we had to go back and order the chuck which worked plug and play. The legs are very short. I had to make adjustable legs for height since the chuck unit is so tall.

While this might not be the absolute top-of-the-line model on the market, and I wasn't entirely sure I made the right choice at first, after a few months of solid usage my wife really likes it! She used to do all of her wood burning by hand, which took forever and left her hands aching after a while.Now with the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro S2 she can just set up her project and hit start! Keep in mind that getting the LightBurn software configured can be a bit tricky initially, but once you get past that learning curve and understand how it works, operating it is an absolute breeze. It's been an excellent, practical investment for her hobby.

This is a very dependable laser for the price. May be a little difficult for beginners to set up but it definitely does the job for light cutting and etching.

First laser engraver, so no comparison.The assembly instructions were the worst I have ever experienced. But, a quick youtube and I found great directions.After a download of lightburn and fiddling what the a usb setting, I did a drag and drop of a logo, hit start and got a good first product with good detail.Nothing fancy yet, so maybe I'm missing something, but I think this is not capable than my imagination.

For a highly reviewed, very technical product, I expect that the manufacturer assembly instructions (User Manual) should be correct. I followed the manufacturer's instructions carefully and double-checked the manual and my work. The unit failed to stay together properly because the "synchronous belt" kept falling out of the assembled unit. The instructions in the first image show the method of installing this, incorrectly. The front cover picture shows the correct installation.After discussing the issue with my AI chat buddy, he said the following that sums up my frustration: “The official Ortur assembly instructions for the OLM2 Pro S2 were inaccurate and caused assembly problems. A four-year-old independent YouTube video from Aurora Tech explained the process more clearly and correctly than the manufacturer’s own documentation. If a young hobbyist channel can produce accurate assembly guidance, Ortur should be able to provide competent official instructions.” Amen.

I have never used a laser engraver before. This engraver is very easy to use. It would help if you have a spare media to run a test on before the first live try. I need more experience in cutting different materials. Engraving is easier.
