Broadlink Smart Home Hub, RM Mini3 Smart Wi-Fi IR Universal Remote Control, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Only, One for All Infrared Controller - Black

I was pointed towards this product on the Alzheimer's UK forum. My Mum has dementia and is now struggling to remember how to use the remote control panels for her TV and Sky box. This has been an absolutely brilliant addition and works perfectly. It sits alongside the Ring indoor camera, so I can see her TV across the room clearly enough to use this device to change channels for her. I have it set up with: - her Samsung TV - her Sky box - her Roku player, for Prime, Netflix etc I can change the source of the TV, to switch between the Sky box and the Roku player and the ability to map buttons individually means I can also adjust the volume, pause, rewind, browse through the TV guide menus etc as well. For £23 this is a real game changer for me and my Mum. I just watched a couple of tutorials on YouTube to get it setup, which didn't take long. I'm also going to map it to her electric fire as well, so I can turn that on and off for her as needed, when I'm not there. Would highly recommend!

Bought it just for gadget sake but was surprised the amount of things it will control. It was reasonably priced and works well with Alexa. Can program all tv and cable box remotes into the app which is handy. One phrase to Alexa and all devices can be turned off at once. Only problem Iv had was one device keeps dropping from the list. Other than that it’s well worth the purchase.

Let me get my main complaint out of the way first..... This device does NOT work when placed on an entertainment rack. Most households have their TV on a display unit and then a Sky box, Xbox, etc on the shelf below. I placed the device on one of my shelves and yes, it was able to receive a signal from whichever entertainment device on was the same shelf BUT....it could not communicate with anything on the other shelf. I tried placing it right next to my TV but then it failed to communicate with my Sky box and Xbox which were on the shelf below. Maybe if your TV display unit has glass shelves it may work but on our wooden unit it just did not work. I also found it frustrating that there was not a proper electrical cord for the SmartHub. It has a USB cable instead meaning you either have to find something that you can plug it into or you need to pay for a separate three pin USB converter to plug it into a standard socket. Neither option really helped me as due to the short cable I could not get a clear line of sight between the hub and my entertainment devices when I tried to position it on the other side of the room (because it didn't work on the entertainment shelves for me)

I bought the RMmini3 Universal Remote to allow me to control the TV in my stepfather's flat many miles away. The unit is small but it emits a good IR signal in all directions and can be placed almost anywhere in the room. My stepfather struggles with remote control buttons, but by using the Broadlink App on my phone while speaking to my stepfather on the phone I can remotely control his TV (and any other IR-controlled devices) in his room and help find and select what he wishes. The setup and install and were straightforward. The initial setup of the actual remote control in the App for the remote's functions/button took a bit of patience, but once done it provides full functionality. I am aware that the app can do so much more with appropriate devices and I am now considering what uses I can make of using this or similar units.

This product was released in 2016, and it would've worked perfectly in the market... in 2010. Once you connect the device to your network it works perfectly well, and integrates well with Google Home, but the problem is getting it connected in the first place. The device comes with a USB cable (but no power plug), and has one of those reset holes you'll need a SIM tray eject tool for (not supplied) several times. If you have a 2.4GHz/5GHz combined network you MUST disable 5GHz before you begin setup. If you don't your device will get itself into a state and need to be reset with the SIM tool. If you type in the WiFi password wrong your device MUST be reset with the SIM tool. Your PHONE must connect to the same 2.4GHz device that you want your Mini3 to connect to; if you have multiple access points (e.g. several Eero) then your phone and Mini3 must both connect to the same one, or it'll need to be reset with a SIM tool. When I got all of these steps down... it still couldn't connect to the network and told me to connect to the device itself using its own WiFi network; I had to reset the device with the SIM tool several times before this showed up, and then it tried to take me through a different journey before it got back to this one (more resetting). After about 40 minutes and 15 resets, I finally got this thing on my network. I am a technical professional, and this is one of the most frustrating setup processes I've ever seen in a finished product. 3 stars, simply because in the same modern networking environment, someone less technical is likely to just give up and ask for a refund (read the other reviews!) As for the functionality itself, the app is beginning to look a bit old BUT it does work, and added devices show up in Google Home with no other configuration. Now when I say "Hey Google, good morning", my TV turns on (via this Broadlink), the amplifier it's connected to turns on (Tapo plug), my curtains open (Somfy), and the lights turn on (Hue). One step closer to full automation!

Was wel even knutselen met een 2,4ghz netwerk aangezien ik die niet heb. Maar eenmaal verbonden kon ik snel alle knoppen van de afstandbedieningen instellen. Werkt ook goed met Google Assistent.
