The 8-in-one and 10-in-1 have one knife blade which positively locks open. A leaf spring nearly as thick as the blade must be depressed inward toward the body to close it. If that latch doesn't prevent the blade from closing, the knife is defective.

What grade of stainless steel?

A plus in my book. Not to be sarcastic. Not really sure the grade of metal but its a $10 multi-tool from Amazon. We've had it for a while and had to use it a couple times with maximum success. Again I'm not really sure what your expectations are of a $10 multi-tool it's not made of titanium and I don't think it's made to last forever like say a Leatherman but then again it doesn't cost $150 either. Hope that helps.

Can't wait to try it on every desk I ever come across. Scissors a little dull tho, couldn't cut it's own box. Rest seems really sturdy, knife is sharp, I can try shaving my beard like a Hollywood commando in jungle. I don't why did I buy it (probably on a whim). Should work decently in a really life scenario. Did work decently with what ever I threw at it...

I’ve been using this from 3 months. The quality and sharpness is OK for the price point don’t expect took much from it. The useability quite good.However as time goes the tightness in the multitool is quite problem.

Great value!

For less than ten pounds, this tool is excellent! And it is occasionally on special offer for even less! It feels robust and everything works well. The blade on mine was very sharp (some people have said theirs wasn’t, but it doesn’t take long to sharper it anyway). I like that the knife blade doesn’t lock, so it is supposedly legal to carry, but the downside is you have to be careful when using it. I bought a very small stainless steel pry bar for a fiver from Amazon, which fits down the side of the sheath, and now I am prepared for any little emergency! 😁
