I got this as a birthday present for myself, and it arrived looking like the Post Office delivered it by drop-kicking it. As expected from the look of the box, it didn't work; it wouldn't levitate and the base got hot. So I contacted the manufacturer, and exchanged email with someone who actually read what I said and answered me, instead of the all-too-common case of them sending off a form letter only vaguely related to what I said. I sent them pictures of the smashed packaging, and they sent out a new moon lamp immediately. I'd have rather had it not show up broken, of course, but if I had to get a replacement, I'm glad it was from these folks. They take care of their customers. Their customer service would be worth a whole extra star if I could give it 6! Now, as to the lamp itself: It is really cool. If you've ever read H. Beam Piper's "Little Fuzzy," you'll remember that Victor Grego, the chief bad guy, has a levitating globe of the planet in his office. Well, I don't have an Earth (yet) but now I have a levitating moon on my desk! And it looks awesome. (why, yes, I'm a geek; how did you ever guess?) Setting it up is really easy. It only took me a few tries to get it centered on the magnets. It floats about half an inch in the air over the base and turns slowly. Yes, you can slide things under it to prove that it's really floating in the air. The light is powered by an inductive pickup, just like a wireless charger for your phone. You should note that the remote control only turns the light on and off; the base needs power at all time or the moon will come crashing down. I'd recommend, if you're going to be unplugging it, to first set the moon down gently. It's only plastic, after all -- PLA, I'm suspecting -- and banging it around is probably not good for it. That moon, by the way, is 3D printed (they must have a huge printer farm at the factory!), I believe from NASA data, and is extremely detailed. It's going to need regular dusting, because those craters are going to start developing their own regolith if I don't. You could put a glass dome from the craft store over it, of course. Levitating things have more or less of a whirring noise from the base because it's moving magnets around to make its item float. This particular one is remarkably quiet -- enough so that when I first plugged it in, I was concerned that it wasn't working. You can hear it in a quiet room if it's on your desk, but not in any sort of non-silent environment. The only negative I can find is that the "smooth" color setting actually makes the thing strobe! Be ready when you test it -- it startled me! And I do wish there was a good warm white setting; I'm mostly using the cool white. But oh, this is wonderful. Very enthusiastically recommended!

Very cool. Love this thing. The only annoying thing is that it automatically turns on flashing color. I wish it turned on in pure white mode by default. I always have to change it which is annoying. It is tricky to set up, but you get the hang of it after about 5 minutes of trying.

I sent this as an early Christmas gift. My family has tried in vain to get it to work. Itll be going back to Amazon

If you get one and the moon rattles it is broken. I got the first one and it did that. They replaced it very quick. It was a bit tricky to get it to levitate but once if the reviews explained his they did it and that worked great. It started spinning one way and then it would stop and spin the other way. I gave it a careful spin 4 days ago and it's still spinning. This is the coolest lamp I have ever seen.

I would love to give this 5 stars, its absolutely awesome, amazing and beautiful. However, after day 2, I woke up with the moon sticking to the base. The magnet came loose inside it somehow. After awhile I got it pretty aligned to the bottom and its floating again. But after a 2nd day malfunction I worry about the longevity of it. I wish the bottom twisted off or something so I could re-glue and center the magnet inside. Maybe a consideration, unless my product is just flawed...

I went back and forth about buying this because I wasn't sure how this would look in person, but when the price dropped to $60 I scooped it up...and it is so awesome! I gave it to my Mom for an early Christmas present and she loved it. Getting the ball centered is a little tricky but after a few times I'm able to do it easily. Also, I thought this rotated on its own but you can spin it slowly and it will stay spinning slowly, or quickly, or you can just have it floating, which also looks pretty cool. It works great as a nightlight too. The only thing- you have to find somewhere stable to put it where the base or the ball won't get knocked around. However, If the ball gets knocked off-center, it will immediately magnetize to the side of the base so it doesn't really fall unless the whole base gets knocked over. Also, I imagine if someone had cats they would probably tear this thing to shreds lol. Overall, this is a really cool light and would make a great White Elephant gift. Very happy with this :)

Added latest Video....!!!!! I was looking for a gift in lamps for my aunt as she loves lights. I did lots of research on internet and on Amazon. I found this Lamp very impressive. This lamp turned out a perfect gift for her. She loves this so much. Pros: 1> The Product comes with really nice packaging. 2> It is very easy to set up this lamp.(I have seen some people lying about it,) It is piece of cake to set this thing up. 3> The material used for 3D printed moon lamp is very impressive as it is very high quality. 5> The real wooden base enhances the feel. Why I liked this lamp: The set up is very easy and the light coming from the moon is very attractive. The moon keeps revolving slowly and makes feel like real moon. The 3D prinited moon gives feel of superior quality. The wooden base has touch button to ON and OFF and moon light which is really cool. Whoever seen this Lamp at my Aunts have asked us where did we bought this from? So no doubt this is a really a wonderful product for Home use or this is a ideal product for gift. for your loved ones. Cons: I wish this product could ship on same day.....!!!!!! I haven't found any thing that I didn't like. I would definitely suggest this product to my friends as this is real good deal....!!!!!!

Eh, not worth the expensive price tag. Kinda just poor quality materials.

This moon lamp is sadly not good quality, it keeps overheating and collapsing onto the base after a few hours. I bought this as a replacement for what I thought was an identical one that had for 3 years until it was accidentally dropped and broken 😞! The old one would stay on for weeks and never overheated. Unfortunately they’ve somehow lowered the product quality. It’s certainly not worth the money and is very disappointing.

La lampe ne se met pas en lévitation mais est attirée par l'aimant du socle seulement, elle ne s'allume pas non plus, ni branchée ni débranchée et il n'y a pas d'alimentation avec piles. Le bouton Marche/Arrêt n'est ni tactile ni ne s'enfonce on ne comprend pas vraiment. Je l'ai retournée via Amazon et j'ai été remboursée, il y a un papier à l'intérieur qui vous propose de retourner l'envoi au fabricant s'il ne marche pas, ça sent l'embrouille.....!!

This is great lamp with an accurate map of the moon. It is true that may take up to 10 to 20 min to get it to levitate. But after that it is beautiful and charming. “Patience is a tree with bitter roots but sweet fruits.” Again, as expected , it is fantastic and provides a very nice mood light. This lamp creates a nice ambience in my house. Highly recommend and I would buy it again! 2026 Addendum. Still working perfectly and enjoying it every day. Great product.
