The artwork, story, and packaging are all great. This covers volumes 4-6 of the manga, so it covers plenty of ground.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The rise of a beast — and the beginning of self-awareness Volume 2 pushes the story into a much darker and more intense direction. Musashi is still driven by raw instinct and overwhelming ambition, but you begin to see cracks forming beneath the surface. His hunger to become “invincible” starts to feel less like confidence and more like obsession. The action is fierce and unapologetic. Every duel carries real danger, and the brutality feels grounded rather than exaggerated. Inoue’s storytelling shines here — he doesn’t rush moments. He lets tension build slowly, making each clash feel earned. Visually, this volume is stunning. The VIZBIG format enhances every brushstroke and detail. The contrast between quiet countryside scenes and explosive combat panels is masterfully executed. What makes Volume 2 powerful is that it shows the cost of strength. Musashi wins battles, but internally, something is shifting. You can sense the beginning of transformation — not yet wisdom, but the first step toward it. An essential volume that deepens both the story and the philosophy of the series.

A good hardbound manga. Its solid.

When I order my stuff I usually order from other comic sites but knowing that Vagabond has been sold out and it's a very sought-after series I decided to pull the trigger and get it here on Amazon and boy was I happy that it came in it came in packed better than other packages I've received from here but like I said with my volume for review it's kind of a shot in the dark you don't know what you're going to get story-wise is amazing and the packaging for this volume volume two being amazing

Vagabond definitive 2 continues to blow me away with the awesome choreographed fight scenes, and museum worthy art. These high quality deluxe books are printed on better pages and the ink pops more. Please support these deluxe so we get more!

After angering the swordsmen of the Yoshioka School in Kyoto, Takezo (now going by the name Miyamoto Musashi) travels to Nara to face Inshun, master of the Hozoin spear technique. Along the way he encounters the monk Takuan, who tries to get him to accept the true nature of his feelings for the lovely Otsu. He also picks up a young disciple and is stalked by an assassin of the Yoshioka school. Several extended sequences detailing the duel between Musashi and Inshun highlight Musashi's strengths and weaknesses as a fighter. He retreats to the mountains to continue training and soul-searching so he will be able to defeat Inshun at their next encounter. This volume also picks up on Matahachi's continuing deceitfulness as he tries to pass himself off under the name of a dead samurai, Sasaki Kojiro. Amazing historical detail, rousing action, intriguing plot, and complex characterization combine with jaw-dropping artwork to make this an absolutely outstanding manga series. Highly recommended!
