SIMPLIHOME Draper 54" Wide Solid Wood TV Stand in Teak Brown

Really pleased with my purchase. Great style, looks exactly as pictured. I appreciate that there were so many size options. It's made of actual solid wood, with a beautiful finish. All the hardware is high quality, and the doors slide easily. Directions included both written directions and diagrams, and all the screws and guide holes matched up perfectly, making this the easiest, smoothest build I've ever had. Considering getting the coordinating coffee table.

I have been looking for a mid century, modern turntable stand, and this look like a perfect way to do it. I ordered it thinking I might have to spray paint it white and change the legs. However, when I received it, it seemed perfect for what I needed. As I assembled it, I realized I did not need to put the back on it. So I left it off, and then I only installed one of the sliding doors. They easily snap in and out so I may remove both for that open look. PRO’s Screws together, true and tight. The back panel, is thin, but it’s not flimsy. The back panel is not structurally needed for stability of the unit, so you can leave it off to get that “open look“ which looks better The color that is shown in the Amazon picture is quite true to what I received, it’s a honey, mahogany like color with a very tight appealing grain. Not at all like oak which is good in my opinion CON’s NONE I was able to turn this into a very nice turntable stand, without having to spend a lot of money, and it doesn’t look like all the other options available. I’m so happy with his purchase. It looks great in my new home vinyl lounge.

It feels sturdy and looks pretty decent once assembled. It was quite easy to assemble except for mounting the doors in their respective slots. The instructions on installing the doors were not at all clear in my opinion: "Slide the wheels on bottom of each door to the slots on Bottom shelf (C). Pull down the pins on top of each door then place the door to be parallel with the TV side post. Afterward release the pins. The pins will be inserted into the slots under the Top Shelf (I)." I don't know what "the TV side post" refers to. The instructions should say something like this: Start with the right-side door. Before installing it, pull the two top spring pins down until they are flush with the top edge of the door and click into place; you will release them once the door has been aligned in its slots. Take the right side door and mount it so the wheels at the bottom are in the INNER slot at the base on the right side of the cabinet and the pins at the top are aligned with the inner slot on the underside of the bottom shelf. NOTE: If the top of the door contacts the underside of the shelf and prevents you from aligning the door, take the door back out and retract the wheels by turning the central screw a quarter-turn or half-turn clockwise, and retry. Once the door has been lined up with the inner slot both at the wheels and at the pins, press the spring pin release to free them so they click into the slot and then turn the wheel screw back counter-clockwise to lower the wheels into their slot in the cabinet. (It may go easier if you have a helper positioned at the back of the cabinet who can turn the screw and release the spring pins at the top once the door is in place.) Move to the left side and mount the left door in the OUTER slots on the left hand side of the cabinet. You might not need to lock the spring pins first and you probably won't need to retract the wheels. But if you do, follow the same steps you used above. I am deducting a star for several reasons: 1) the lower left rear corner of the base was chipped; a quarter-inch of wood was broken off, though I didn't see any damage to the shipping box and it was packed quite carefully in the box; it's not very noticeable in that location, except when scrutinizing the cabinet from the side, but QC should have caught it (see pics). 2) there are two smeared areas on the top surface, each about an inch long, where the polyurethane got smudged at the factory. You can only see it when looking at the top from an angle. But again, QC should have caught it. 3) Installing the top is more tedious than it needed to be. The strips of wood that connect the top to the side panels are about 1/4 inch too narrow. 1/4 inch wider and the customer would be spared a lot of the tedium of having to install those six screws when hunched over with their head inside the cabinet. To use the long leg of the supplied allen wrench to get the screws started and halfway in before tightening with the shorter end, the wrench has to be held at an angle, otherwise the short end of the wrench contacts the side panel after less than a half turn. But when holding it at an angle it tends to cam out of the screw's socket head. 4) The rear panel comes in a small top section about 7 inches tall and a large bottom section almost 16 inches tall. There are no holes for routing cables and wires in the bottom section of the rear panel; the holes are only up at the top; 5) that rear panel is only 1/8 inch (3mm) thick. I think they should have used the 1/4 inch thick (6mm) thickness.

Super happy with this piece of furniture!! Extremely well-made, heavy and solid wood - great instructions, easy assembly. It really is a beautiful piece!!

The first one arrived damaged, but was returned via AMAZON at no cost, and the replacement one was perfect. We opened the carton and identified the parts, read instructions and followed easily. There was even a little packet with extras of all screws and washers, just in case. The unit is VERY solid, no flex or give at all. Wood is smoothly finished, and even a nice wood panel for the back instead of the usual vinyl coated cardboard. The hardware is subtle instead of shiny, and the legs are quite substantial. This is better than all the 40 I looked at in stores, many of which were just assembled versions of other Amazon-identical items. Highly recommended.

Super cute stand! Well made. Didn’t have any damage to pieces out of the box. It went together well. Minimal swearing and frustration by my husband, who put it together. I will say that when it was time for me to remove the 54 stickers from the wood, that’s where the cursing came in. The SUPER GLUE they used for all the stickers was a HUGE pain in the ass to remove. Took longer to remove the stickers than it did to actually put the thing together. Had to bust out the hair dryer and credit card to scrape these devil stickers from the wood. If you’d asked me while removing the stickers if I’d recommend this tv stand, I’d say HELL NO! BUT it’s been about a month of looking at this beautiful piece of quality furniture in my living room, I’ll forgive the sticker situation.

As cheesy as it may sound this thing brought a tear to my eye. I've been keeping an eye out, going to antique stores, as well as shopping online for yeeaars for something similar to this, so finally having it in my room and put together felt surreal. It took my husband about an hour to put this together, it feels super sturdy and even smells good, lol! Excited to keep this around for a loooong time, so I'm happy it's solid wood to hold up my heavy ever growing record collection =)
