A very worthwhile purchase
This gadget does exactly as required. It's easy to use, the blades can be removed and re-positioned after cleaning very easily and we've had no issues from a safety point of view, ie no cut fingers. Great little chipper.

Used almost daily
I really like this slicer, it’s much quicker and consistent than using a knife. It works with both skinned and unskinned potatoes which means I can make healthier (and tastier) chips for me and my kids. The down sides are that the suction is almost completely useless and it can be quite hard for my wife or even me some time to be able to push the potatoes though. This worsened with time almost exclusively on the 1/2” cutter so much so that after about 600 potatoes cut in to chips it became so blunt that it came to the point of failure with the potatoes getting jammed and popping the blades out. Even though I now only have half the options it is still some thing I use near daily, and the 1/3” slicer doesn’t seem to be having the same about of a struggle pushing the potatoes though.

Rubbish!!
I used this once and it wasn't fit for purpose and I have returned it. The metal is flimsy and bends when you try to push the potato through. Also it doesn't cut right the way through to the end of the potato and gets stuck which is a right faff on to get the remaining potato out. Absolutely useless, no where near as good as the one my grandmother had in the 80s. But then again, things were made to last back then not like the rubbish we have these days. Avoid this item. I must point out that although the product is rubbish, the seller provides good customer service as they accepted the return.

Good value
Fantastic product and good value for money. This replaced a plastic type and is far better. Easy to clean and use.

Could be a bit stronger
Very flimsy when you put a lot of pressure on . Takes some strong arms to cut through a large potato.

Great little time saver!
I am willing to bet that most of the people who say they found this broke first time they used it, or that you have to thump it to get a potato through made the same mistake as I did. The manufacturer would do well to put a couple of simple diagrams on the sheet of A4 paper they put in the box, rather than just a qr code to take you to the instructions online. The device is too simple for most people think it necessary to go to that effort. But, before I realised how the cutting blades are meant to lock in to place, the first potato I put in it rose upwards as I pushed the handle down. This sent the blades upwards and meant the potato was pushing against the blades' frame. At this point it became very hard to push because the frame wouldn't cut through the potato. A lot of force made for some progress and I was tempted to try thumping but realised the blades were bending and didn't want to break them. With the blades correctly locked in they can't move and the potato goes through with not a lot of effort. I have used it a few times now and it saves a lot of time. I would say that the plastic piece that pushes the potato could be better shaped to push the chips all the way out of the blades, I do sometimes have to pull them out by hand. The suction cup on the bottom doesn't work on a wooden worktop, unsurprisingly, but I don't find it needs to be fixed down. The cutting pressure is applied downwards and it is not like I need to be wrestling with it.
