The biggest problem I face when recording any video off of my phone, by far, is the terrible audio. Everytime, I am confined to recording something using a bluetooth headset that just ends up looking awkward in any video edit. After doing some digging for options, I settled on getting the IMAXTOP wireless microphone system mostly on the basis of it using 2.4G to deliver audio wirelessly. I have many other wireless solutions for my instruments and have always been impressed with the range that I get if I just forego bluetooth. Right off the bat, the thing you notice with these microphones is that you're not confined to using phone plugs for recording. There is a standard microphone jack that can plug into your cameras or even computer when doing editing. I tried it out on my PC and found it really useful for Teams calls. My previous headset is a bit much, but this set lets me clip one microphone on to myself and have a guest sit in and talk on the other one as well. On the other end, people were able to hear me clearly! According to people on the other end, the audio was crist and far better than the round (high end) microphone I currently use for these calls. I think I will be sticking to using these solely due to the fact that they take up no desk space. In fact, noone can even see me wearing it on video. These mics are really easy to hide. Lastly, the noise cancelling that these mics have is impressive. I am able to be outside and there is no wind noise picked up. The battery is advertised to only last 6 hours, but I have used it and kept them on for well over that. It is still running! I did a small range test and was able to walk outside to the backyard, about 150+ feet through walls and the sound was not choppy on playback even at the furthest point. One thing to keep in mind, is when I tested it, the audio tries to play though the microphone, meaning you need to unplug the connector prior to listening to playback on a phone. This does not exist on a PC since I plugged it into my dedicated MIC port. There is an included earpiece that seems to be for listening to the audio playback. That might remediate the issue I had with my phone.

Sure, you can get better quality audio from something ten to a hundred times more expensive, but this thing is a miracle. It can turn your already-expensive smart phone with a great camera into an actual tool. This is Inexpensive and makes a cell phone usable for getting footage/interviews etc. I would not use it for the most demanding voice reproduction situation, but if you want to get a clear voice track using your smart-phone, this is it. The phones all now have astounding image quality...and do their best with audio, but nothing can beat a mic that is near the source. I was teaching high-school broadcast video production. Yes, we have amazing cameras that are great to use in the studio, but taking those expensive camera out "into the field" was not only risky (with new students) it was a cumbersome, time-consuming endeavor. Plus, there was only a few of these expensive cameras. EVERY student now has a smart-phone with a great camera. We bought a pile of these (ten costs less than most mics) and distributed them to the students and they could CAPTURE interviews whenever and wherever without "making it a big production." And, clearly, this is the "future" of broadcast (narrow cast). "Grab and go!" This is an awesome solution at an impossible price. If it were to get lost or squashed or fill-in-the-blank...who cares? Buy another.
