Microwave Tester | Home Inspector Tool For Microwave Leaks, Hot/Cold Spots

I repaired my microwave using a YouTube video. Ordered some door switches from Amazon. Decided to order this tester just to be safe. It works great. The lights glow when hit by microwaves. Place it around the inside to see where the waves hit. Then run it around the outside to make sure there are no leaks. Nifty!

I received my tester from your company in great shape and right on time. The packaging included clear instructions, and I tested the unit immediately to make sure everything was functioning properly. It worked perfectly. I appreciate the quality and reliability—when I need another, I’ll be ordering from you again.

I purchased the Microwave Tester, hoping it would help me quickly identify any leaks in my microwave oven. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Right from the start, the device seemed poorly designed. The instructions were vague, making it difficult to understand how to use it effectively. After several attempts to test my microwave, I found that the indicator light rarely flashed, even when I was sure the microwave was running. I followed all the recommended steps, including placing the tester in various positions inside and outside the microwave, but it failed to detect any leaks. It felt like I was just wasting my time and energy. For a product that claims to be a reliable home inspection tool, it certainly did not deliver. I would not recommend this Microwave Tester to anyone looking for a dependable solution. Save your money and look for a more effective alternative

You can't leave it in the oven. Can use only for very short tests. It is better than nothing.

My goal for this order was to see if my microwave was steady when cooking at 100% and check for leaks all around the front and door. Since this tester is very simple, in my opinion it's not sensitive enough to test for small leaks. This review is based on a dozen or so trials in and around my large microwave. First, the business sized instruction card explains that the tester can not be left in the microwave for more than 15 seconds and can not be alone when the microwave is cooking. I mean some other "load", such as a mug of water, must be in the microwave at the same time. I kept the mug at or near the center for most of the trials. Following these directions, my 1500W microwave would cause one of more of the three tiny bulbs to shine red after about 3 or more seconds of 100% power operation. As the turntable rotates, the bulbs would go off for a split second and then on again. It's possible that the bulbs go off because they are blocked by the mug and also because the turntable moves them to a location where the waves aren't strong enough to keep them on. I suspect it's a combination of both. When I used the tester to check for leaks outside I would hold the tester near a specific spot or even touch the door from the outside while the microwave was operating. The bulbs never lighted and I suspect that small leaks would not be enough to light them up anyway. So my take is that the tester is only sensitive enough to prove the microwave is working but not how well. Because a load has to be present, the load can block the tester so it's hard to know if the waves of the microwave are fluctuating or steady. I'd say that just checking if the microwave is heating the mug of water after a given time accomplishes the same level of effectiveness as the tester although without the visual appeal. So the red bulbs are attention getting but the testing ability is not as sensitive as I was hoping for. I was actually considering rating this lower, but taking into account the price, I decided four stars was fair.
